AV is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for multiple programs within the Space Technologies division. The Space Technologies division has been developing the techniques, systems, subsystems, and design elements required to implement high reliability optomechanical and electrical systems.
The Test Engineer is a key member of an integrated team operating in a very dynamic environment. The candidate will work across engineering disciplines to help define V&V statements, develop SW for automated tests and provide overall systems support for multiple programs.
The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering background to support the development, verification, and qualification of spaceflight hardware. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing tests on electrical systems, harnesses, and embedded electronics used in spacecraft and space science instruments.
On any given day the selected candidate may be asked to perform the following:
Work within the systems test team to refine System/Subsystem requirement verification statements and verification cross-reference matrices to ensure the requirements are testable.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for spaceflight hardware, ensuring all electrical components and systems meet functional and performance specifications.
Utilize test equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to validate design and functionality.
Conduct detailed timing analysis and signal integrity checks on high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, LVDS, SpaceWire), ensuring accurate communication between subsystems.
Work closely with electrical design engineers, systems engineers, and software teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
Develop and design hardware and software for automated test equipment as well as supporting existing systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and technicians.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve system test design automation, integration, SIL integration, and off-site tests.
Work with the Systems Team to ensure proper requirement Verification and Validation methodology and execution.
Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and provide recommendations for design improvements to ensure product reliability and performance.
Support failure investigation, troubleshooting, and resolutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering plus 2 years related experience.
Proficiency with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test equipment.
Familiarity with environmental test standards for space hardware (e.g., NASA GEVS, MIL-STD-1540, ect.)
Experience performing board-level checkout and debugging of complex electronic assemblies.
Experience in automated control and measurement systems.
Experience in System design, Verification, and Validation
Experience testing performance of systems in a cleanroom environment.
Experience developing integration and test plans/procedures and reports.
Experience in signal processing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

3+ years of experience in electrical engineering roles (spaceflight or aerospace preferred).
Familiarity with FPGA- or microcontroller-based systems and associated debugging techniques.

Hands-on experience in conducting environmental tests for spaceflight hardware or satellite systems in a cleanroom environment.

The Facilities Electrical Engineering Department is the powerhouse behind Sandia's electrical systems to ensure they are available, reliable, sustainable, and safe for years to come. We provide low to high-voltage engineering support that keeps everything running smoothly. We're charged with operational, tactical, and strategic Lifecycle Asset Management (LCAM) planning and the critical development of Lifecycle Asset Management Plans (LCAMPs) for our electrical systems. Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electron Beam Welding Engineer that will be responsible for in-house electron beam welding (EBW) capability development and technology maturation. In this role, you will work on the Welding Development team to assist in the advancement and implementation of welding and manufacturing capabilities. Procedure Development & Qualification

About Our Team:
The Facilities Electrical Engineering Department is the powerhouse behind Sandia's electrical systems to ensure they are available, reliable, sustainable, and safe for years to come. We provide low to high-voltage engineering support that keeps everything running smoothly. We're charged with operational, tactical, and strategic Lifecycle Asset Management (LCAM) planning and the critical development of Lifecycle Asset Management Plans (LCAMPs) for our electrical systems. Our team conducts Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and power system/arc flash hazard analysis to ensure our systems are always in peak condition and ready to support the institution's essential mission goals.
We strive to ensure our projects are grounded in solid engineering principles by establishing the institution electrical asset design and installation requirements, performing regular facility walkdowns, and developing sound electrical scopes of work for design and implementation. We ensure equipment is positioned to meet current and future demands. We support asset health monitoring through data analytics, asset criticality assessments, and energy audits that keep our systems operating at peak efficiency and are cost effective. POSITION SCOPE
The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing onsite construction activities for heavy civil construction projects to ensure quality and cost. This position will be a travelling position where the qualified applicant will be required to integrate and travel with a project team or paving crew to assist with all the functions of the project. The individual must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Some night and weekend work will be required. Traveling is required for this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES
* Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing
* Supervise, direct, and assist project staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met, and work is completed on time and under budget
* Develop and maintain project schedule and daily costs to ensure work is completed on time and under budget
* Provide technical support in construction planning, quality control, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and constructability reviews to ensure successful job completion
* Represent company during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication
* Develop and maintain all material and submittal logs
* Review, analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues within project team
* Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft people
* Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience
* 7+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience
* Proficiency with Blue Beam and OST preferred but not required
* Proficiency with Heavy Job and HCSS preferred but not required
* Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR in accordance with Company Vehicle Program
* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
* Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, and rain
* MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL
