Key Responsibilities (What you contribute):
* Design, develop, and implement automation systems and robotics across JMCRS, Research Services, and in collaboration with NYSCF.
* Develop and validate liquid handling methods across diverse instrumentation (Hamilton, Agilent, Dynamic Devices, etc.).
* Create custom software solutions (macros, scripts, dashboards) to complement automated processes.
* Integrate automation platforms with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other data systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on automation systems, robotics, or industrial controls.
* At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience developing and maintaining automated laboratory systems, including robotic instrumentation and liquid handling platforms.
* Certification in automation or robotics (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Robotics Engineer (CRE), Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), etc.).
* Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or structured text, with emphasis on robotic instrument and liquid handler programming (Hamilton, Agilent, Dynamic Devices) and API-based integrations for lab automation.
* Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial robotics, including integration with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and experience with custom automation software solutions.

We are looking for talented and highly motivated individuals to assist our Electrical Engineering team with the design and development of leading-edge products for military and space-based applications. Our Summer Engineering Internship Program offers students the opportunity to apply engineering skills in a dynamic and real-world environment in the following areas.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
The Electrical Engineer Interns develops and tests electrical and mechanical components for specific projects and systems. This involves:
* Researching electronic equipment
* Designing electrical systems based on customer specifications
* Coordinating activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of components
Education and Experience:
* Majoring in Electrical Engineering
All candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university having completed their sophomore year.
* Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and must be maintaining a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
