Participate in employee relations/disciplinary meetings as required, including grievance meetings for hourly employees.

A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

This individual will be recognized as knowledgeable in multiple areas of facility pharmaceutical engineering and help provide leadership and guidance to others.
* Assumes responsibility and accountability for lower level capital and expense engineering projects involving facility or production equipment, cost reduction, process improvement, cGMP upgrades, etc. Projects will require skills such as Engineering calculations, specifications and other technical writing skills, cost estimating, equipment acquisition scheduling, cGMP knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills and documentation skill, et. Provides engineering support of small portions of capital and expense projects from financial justification, to start-up and through to completion.
* Incumbent shall possess practical knowledge in an engineering technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls, or Manufacturing Technology. This includes the ability to interpret detailed Engineering drawings, specifications, logic diagrams, schematics, verbal and written instructions.
* Responsible for the proper use of cGMP and Engineering documentation systems. Examples include electronic SOP documentation management system, training records, change control system, engineering drawings, validation documentation, etc.
Project Engineer II (In addition to the above):
* Provides technical support of engineering facility projects including facility and utility expansion, compliance upgrades, cost reduction, contract manufacturing, process improvements, construction projects, etc.
* Through education and experience contributes expertise in the area of facility engineering. This includes design, modification and troubleshooting pharmaceutical systems such as HVAC, Clean Steam, WFI, electrical and knowledge of pharmaceutical construction methods.
* Is responsible for contributing knowledge of regulatory requirements for the facility and processes to ensure compliance to local, state, federal and international regulatory agencies.
* With slight supervision/assistance, manages capital and expense facility projects in a manner that is compliant with the "Project Management Guidelines" system. This system includes methods for scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation of a multi-departmental project team.
* Must work effectively with various internal and external customers on a daily basis. Internal customers may include departments such as Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Validation, Finance, etc. External interactions will include officials from local, state or federal regulatory agencies, A&E firms, construction firms, vendors, equipment manufacturers, etc.
* Participates in the compliance to both short-term and long-term company objectives as defined by upper management.
* Development of detailed specifications and RFQs to be used by A&E firms, contractors or equipment manufactures to accurately quote on projects being pursued by the company.
* Responsible for using systems of engineering documentation required by regulatory agencies and in compliance with generally accepted engineering guidelines, SOPs, or quality standards.
Project Engineer III (In addition to the above):
* Autonomously manages major capital and expense facility projects in a manner that is compliant with the "Project Management Guidelines" system. This system includes methods for scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation of a multi-departmental project team
Qualifications:
* Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related Engineering field required.
* Pharmaceutical and FDA Regulated Industry experience desired.
