Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related technical field
10+ years software engineering/systems architecture experience with strong technical leadership
5+ years as senior technical contributor on complex production systems
Expert in Python and proficient in SQL
System design expertise: monolithic and microservice architectures, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, APIs
Hands-on experience in data (e.g., data engineering, data pipelines, data transformation)
Foundational experience with LLMs and familiarity with multiple frontier lab models (e.g., Gemini, Claude, GPT)
Familiarity of risk vectors in AI applications including hallucinations, bias, prompt injection, data privacy
Production experience with AI applications or LLM-powered systems

What you'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):

Must maintain a minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 scale OR 4.0 out of 5.0 scale cumulative GPA (without rounding)
Other Eligibility Requirements:
Must be able to travel.
Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
What Will Make You Stand Out:
Prior internships, co/op or research experience in the industry.
Have demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving, have demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and a passion for power systems.
Candidates that have interests in the following areas: power electronics, power systems, and controls.
Since the internship will lead to further career development opportunities, it will be preferred that candidates will be required to be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

Desired candidates have geographic flexibility and must be willing to relocate to Oakbrook Terrace IL (Near Chicago).

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.

Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
