The Architectural Engineer (AE) will be responsible for the architectural design of customized AC and DC Power Modules, IT Modules
and Data Centers for three core market segments; IT, Telecom and Industrial. This position will support customer requirements and
business development activities. The AE will provide general architectural designs for Data Centers, Telecommunications Central
Offices, Switching Centers, Video Hub Offices, etc. and will work directly with the module manufacturing facility to develop a
detailed workshop drawing package. The AE will complete the design based on local and international building codes including
building type, occupancy classifications, Ingress and Egress requirements, etc. The AE will coordinate the architectural design with
structural, electrical, thermal, mechanical and controls engineers requirements. The AE will also participate in Factory and Site
Acceptance Testing with a focus on general design concepts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1) Serve as Architectural Engineer (AE) to provide conceptual and detailed design of building architecture in post sales stage.
2) Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building
codes.
3) Detailed design of mechanical parts - wall and floor penetrations, doors and door hardware, Flashing and sealing, water
mitigation, etc.
4) Create designs which meet or exceed Vertiv quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.
5) Provide a detailed Schematic Design(SD), Detail Design(DD) and Construction Drawing(CD) narrative for architectural design
aspects of the solution
6) Review and approve architectural product submittals.
7) Coordinate with Mechanical Engineer on thermal transfer calculations (fire ratings and thermal bridges)
8) Material specification - architectural and finish
9) Work with Vertiv's business units, Business Partners and preferred vendors to specify the appropriate material specifications and
sizes for the fabrication process to succeed.
10) Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to and during construction phases.
11) Coordination between structural and civil work design
12) Provide technical project coordination with customers and suppliers
13) Quality control during execution
14) Provide support for all on site module repairs (damaged paint, door malfunction etc.)

EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS

This position works closely with other engineers, project managers, and Client team members in support of both capital and operational improvement projects.
This position requires implementing sound engineering principles to ensure project designs are safe and at the industry's cutting edge. An ability to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively with team members is of the utmost importance to this position.

Primary Responsibilities
Creates Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs and HMI applications from User Requirements or Functional Specifications
Performs loop checks and basic control system checkout tasks.
Configures communication interfaces to other control systems.
Basic understanding of standard instrumentation.
Devises and maintains electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID).
Optimizes and tunes automatic control systems utilizing PLCs.
Design electrical packages by laying out I/O, fusing, control panel layouts, bills of material, and cable layouts.
Creates all project documents according to internal processes to ensure that designs meet Client's expectations.
Specify and configure VFD and Servo drives for applications.
Performs system validation according to scope documentation and project requirements.
Requirements
Experience
Two (2) to Six (6) years of experience as an industrial control system/automation engineer.
Industrial electrical design experience in the following industries preferred: Consumer Goods, Renewable Energy; Gas Processing, Chemical, Power, Waste Management or Pharmaceutical.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent experience is required.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale.
Qualifications
Interest and experience with computer programming are highly preferred.
Exposure to electrical design and calculations.
Exposure to PLC logic, HMI interface logic, system communications, elementary diagrams, control panel layouts or instrument specifications is preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or ability to obtain such is highly preferred.
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closure of a wide range of environmental, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for our diverse client base. This position requires hands-on project engineering experience and a proven track record in managing complex engineering assignments from conception through completion.
Our Geotechnical Group focuses on serving projects for our local municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial clients. These projects span a multitude of geotechnical support roles, from geotechnical exploration to geotechnical support during construction.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) in South Carolina or ability to obtain reciprocity where firm operates.
Minimum 5-12 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or materials testing with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
Knowledge of geosynthetics
Skills & Competencies
Apply advanced knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering principles to project design, analysis, and problem-solving.
Conduct technical analyses, calculations, and design for various engineering projects, including but not limited to site development, foundation design, retaining walls, earthwork, and pavements.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and other project documentation.
Utilize engineering software and tools for design, modeling, and data analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs).
Perform site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support project objectives.
Interpret and apply relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry standards (e.g. ASTM, IBC).
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, and field staff.
Delegate tasks effectively and oversee the work of project team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.

Conduct performance feedback sessions and contribute to the professional development of team members.
Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection. Assign soils laboratory testing.
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Effectively communicate project updates, technical findings, challenges, and solutions to clients in a clear and concise manner.
Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Quality Control and Assurance
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all project deliverables meet technical standards, and client expectations.

Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems.
Project Planning and Scheduling
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
Create and manage project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools
Monitor project progress against established timelines and milestones, making adjustments as needed.
Forecast resource needs and ensure optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify potential project risks (technical, financial, regulatory, safety) and develop mitigation strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Qualifications

Direct experience with roll-to-roll (R2R) manufacturing test environments and challenges is highly desirable.
Proficiency in test automation scripting (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, C#).
Strong understanding of RF test fundamentals, including S-parameters, noise figure, EVM, power, and spectral purity.
Awareness of RF hardware and signal integrity principles (e.g. impedance matching, filtering, shielding, and isolation) - to ensure accurate and repeatable test measurements.
Familiarity with various RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for manufacturing test.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with embedded systems and firmware testing.
Knowledge of industry standards for Bluetooth (e.g., Bluetooth LE, Classic) and LTE (e.g., Cat-M1, NB-IoT).
Ability to travel internationally up to 15%

Education
