What You Will Do Deliver Field Installations with Excellence Install solar PV and battery systems, including panels, inverters, and wiring. Lay underground conduit, install pull boxes, and pull wire across job sites. Perform low-voltage SCADA system wiring and installation for data monitoring. Maintain Electrical Systems with Precision Build pedestal/strut walls for mounting electrical gear and control systems. Install residential and commercial electrical panels, fixtures, and lighting. Execute landscape lighting and low-voltage installations with care. Support Safe, Effective Operations Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues with accuracy and urgency. Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Maintain equipment and adhere to job site safety protocols at all times. What You Bring 2-3 years of electrical field experience, including some exposure to solar installation. Electrical Journeyman license preferred (but not required). General electrical knowledge and ability to read single-line diagrams and plans. Skilled in using hand tools and operating mechanical equipment. Physically able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs and work in outdoor conditions, including on rooftops and in full sun. Must have your own tools and a personal vehicle capable of hauling 10' conduit and strut. Clean driving record and valid driver's license preferred. The Precise Time Department is responsible for the maintenance and dissemination of the USNO timescale, UTC(USNO), to customers across the entire globe. The WWVH radio station in Kauai, Hawaii was founded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 1948 to augment time dissemination capabilities in the Pacific Rim. The station has been operating near-continuously since, providing critical signals for remote clock synchronization, navigation, ionospheric research, and equipment calibration to this day. The Work The successful candidate will provide engineering support and supervision of technical staff at the WWVH station. Day-to-day responsibilities include the monitoring of local RF equipment and on-site timing systems; communication with scientific staff at NIST and USNO, providing reports each month; design and commissioning of system modifications; and support of scientific staff in performing experiments and R&D activities. Location, Clearance, Salary The position is located at the NIST WWVH facility at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) on Kauai, Hawaii. Relocation assistance is available. Provides technical assistance relating to gas systems and designs to architects, engineers, consultants, and developers. Reviews and assists in the evaluation of new business projects to ensure they are compliant with governing regulations and company standards; prepares and submits application for government approvals and fire permits. Establishes and maintains effective liaison with the Honolulu Fire Inspector. Reviews construction plans and proposals by outside agencies to mitigate any conflicts with the existing gas network. Prepares response letters to requests for plan reviews from other utilities, contractors, architects and developers. Assists Manager in maintaining the Tank Management Program (TMP).
