Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders and have responsibility for assisting in writing change orders, RFl's, meeting minutes, and reviewing Submittals. Maintains an effective and professional working relationship with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Senior), which provide for a progression of skill and experience. Step II is used for employees with 2 years of experience in this position, or with experience on larger and more complex projects. The 'Senior' step is used for employees with more than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book.
8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility. (Not all Field Engineers track quantities)
9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.

Responsibilities
* Design electrical systems for building power, i.e. normal, emergency, and standby power distribution systems for 208v, 480v, and medium voltage for industrial facilities.
* Document all necessary calculations for the design such as short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash, generator sizing, steady state and transient voltage drops, load calculations, conductor sizing, raceway fills, etc.

What We're Looking For:
We are hiring a hands-on Electrical Associate to join our growing production team. This role plays a critical part in the assembly of high-performance dehumidification systems, with a primary focus on wiring internal unit components. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and brings a strong background in electrical assembly. You'll work closely with engineering and production to ensure every unit is built to spec and meets the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Route and install internal wiring between unit-mounted components (sensors, motors, switches, etc.)
Terminate wires to control panels and terminal blocks per schematics
Read and interpret ladder logic diagrams and electrical schematics
Verify appropriate wire and breaker sizing according to NEC and UL standards
Use multi-meters and hand tools for troubleshooting, testing, and validation
Mount and install electrical hardware and sensors per design specs
Optimize internal layout for safety, performance, and ease of service
Collaborate with engineering to improve wiring methods and manufacturability
Support process improvement initiatives that enhance quality and reduce rework

Basic Qualifications:

Job Description
The Building Electrical Group is responsible for all building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection and low voltage for our design build, industrial projects. We design and build food and beverage production facilities. Our building electrical team is involved with designing the electrical systems, calculating power loads, determining, and selecting equipment sizes, and vetting and selecting suitable vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. The professional will have technical responsibility for scoping, performing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. His/her specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for building power, i.e. normal, emergency, and standby power distribution systems for 208v, 480v, and medium voltage for industrial facilities.
Document all necessary calculations for the design such as short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash, generator sizing, steady state and transient voltage drops, load calculations, conductor sizing, raceway fills, etc.
Maintain project document organization
Manage time and meet commitments
Understand Ohms Law, AC/DC, Electric and magnetic fields
Understand power system theory - 3-phase vector math, power factor, symmetrical components
Understand capacitors, inductors, and resonance
Design lighting for food processing spaces, including lighting calculations for emergency and inspection lighting level needs. Coordinate fixture placement/mounting with other trades.
Design fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, 101, and local building code.
Design low voltage systems such as LAN, phones, PA, Wi-Fi, access control, cameras, etc.
Produce bid documents consisting of layout drawings, one-line, riser, schedules, details, and specifications.
CAD - add 2D devices to Xrefs
Procure long lead light fixtures and power distribution equipment such as switchgears, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, MCC's, generators, variable speed drives, and UPS's.
Transformer configurations
Estimate weights of main tray/trapezes and equipment needing support
Assist in managing electrical bid process for clients, observing construction, and assisting with startup.
Project planning and feasibility studies.
Actively participate in and support department-wide standard development, updates, and maintenance.
Research electrical building/power materials and best practices
Support talent growth within our organization
About You
Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).
Familiarity with three phase power, the National Electric Code, wireless radio systems, fire and security systems, Fiber or LAN cabling is a plus.
Familiarity with designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations, and coordinating fixture placement with trades.
GPA: 3.0 or above
Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, estimated 25%.
Familiarity AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirement
Up to 25% travel required to visit project site and other offices.
