About the Role:
The Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer Lead plays a key role in supporting our paper mill operations by leading capital projects focused on sustaining electrical infrastructure. This role is highly hands-on, with a strong focus on project execution, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams and vendors. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in electrical systems and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position collaborates closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational areas to ensure electrical reliability, manage critical spares, and support long-term asset sustainability across the mill.
This position collaborates closely with Process Engineering, Environmental, and Operational areas to reduce losses, improve chemical usage, and support digital upskilling initiatives across the mill.
Responsibilities
What You're Going to Do:
Recommend and manage electrical improvement projects (e.g., fire distribution system, crane controls, drives upgrades, power quality studies, machine room equipment, cameras).
Address ongoing electrical issues and identify critical spares to ensure operational continuity.
Collaborate with internal teams and interface with contractors and vendors to execute capital projects.
Maintain accurate records and documentation using SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
Monitor key electrical parameters and identify opportunities for system optimization.
Support mill operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
Communicate effectively across departments to align priorities and share technical insights.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization.
What We Expect from You:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries.
Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems.
Experience with equipment from GE, Allen Bradley, Eaton, and Westinghouse.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts when needed.
High self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. The 'Senior' step is used for employees with more than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book.
8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility. (Not all Field Engineers track quantities)
9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.

HFA is seeking an Electrical Designer I to join an expanding program in automotive retail convenience for adaptive building reuse and some ground up construction. This is an entry level position and great opportunity to learn about design and teamwork within the design side of the building industry.
Successful candidates will be involved with: construction document creation; technical design; execute project production schedules; coordination with other professional disciplines (structural engineers, mechanical engineers and architects, to name a few) and will work under a licensed professional engineer in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated ability to learn and process workflows and design to deliver project excellence is key to your success. Additional exposure to project management and client facing opportunities are available as growth and experience on the team develops.
Job Requirements include but are not limited to:
Designer will assist Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Design Team to design, implement, and draft construction documents in support of clients' building program, including lighting and power design.
Designer should utilize education and experience to independently tackle minor challenges as they arise on projects, with the support and/or direction of the Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Team lead.
Designer should start to apply NEC and other national code information for construction documents, with oversight from Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Team Lead.
Designer should begin to learn fault current calculations and ability to draw 1-Line diagram for simple projects.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Designer will develop skills in AutoCAD and/or REVIT, develop strong understanding of NEC and other relevant national codes, travel to project as necessary (as required by client).
Designer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements
Designer will perform quality control of their own work prior to giving to Electrical Engineer for final review.
Depending on needs of client and team, Designer could have direct contact with client on a regular basis.
