Hybrid schedule available Who You Are The Electrical Design Engineer, working closely with the Engineering Manager, will be responsible for the electrical design and PLC, HMI programming of industrial water treatment systems. The design process includes creating electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, determining system loads, supervising the construction of the electrical system, programming the system PLC and HMI, testing the system prior to shipping and starting the system up in the field. A Day in the Life: Complete electrical system design and programming from concept to commissioning Maintain electrical drawings, address customer comments and update existing drawings Use P&ID drawings, specifications and AVANTech standards to design electrical systems which are safe, meet code, are acceptable to our customers and meet AVANTech's quality standards Interact with technicians and engineers to clarify schematics and assembly questions Electrical Engineer will inspect and test assembled components Coordinate factory acceptance testing of complete systems Interact with customer, operators, technicians and engineers to clarify schematics and assembly questions Travel to customer sites, foreign and domestic locations, sometimes for an extended length of time with no or minimal supervision to complete commissioning in a timely manner Other duties as assigned by Management What Will Set You Up for Success: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years related job experience Must have at least one year of AutoCAD experience PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 HMI programming experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk Siemens PLC experience preferred Adaptability to changing project requirements and schedules, and work independently or in a team environment Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements; critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills and concept design skills Assist with long-term system planning, design and analysis to ensure success of projects; ability to read and follow electrical diagrams and schematics and mechanical prints Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in high output environment Strong knowledge of NEC electrical code Additional Requirements All candidates must be able to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation.
