A McCall-Thomas Transmission and Substation Engineer will provide
engineering and technical expertise to Transmission Line and Transmission Substation engineering and design teams for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. The Engineer will also provide direction on complex engineering and technical challenges for the projects. This role requires both direct billable client work and project management support for projects. The Engineer is expected to take initiative on discipline-specific work for projects, perform assigned engineering duties and manage project schedules and budgets. The Engineer will also support proposal development and project cost estimating.
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
Understanding and creating substation drawing packages (foundations, structural steel, bus and cable) utilizing national code, industry standards and best practices
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving engineering, technical and design problems
Planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Producing thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
Monitoring deliverables and schedules, and presenting solutions to the client
Continually improving job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, process development, and performance
Representing the company positively and professionally, and developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients.
Interacting with client's internal engineering staff and technical personnel on a day-to-day basis
