This salary exempt position is assigned to the Electrical Department and will report directly to the Electrical Maintenance Manager. The individual in this position will be responsible for supporting reliable operation of the plant electrical and automation systems while helping to keep maintenance and repair costs at a minimum.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain and promote strict adherence to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
Provide maintenance engineering support to the electrical team.
Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for new and existing equipment.
Integrate maintenance tasks required for new equipment and installations into existing maintenance plans.
Design and implement control system architecture upgrades or enhancements.
Evaluate chronic failures and RCA actions to develop and implement long term improvements.
Lead and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis for downtime events that meet trigger criteria.
Ensure high reliability through evaluations of critical spare parts availability.
Perform lifecycle analysis on electrical and control system equipment and generate EOL/obsolescence plans.
Provide technical support to troubleshoot and repair complex industrial equipment and systems including medium and low voltage VFDs, PLC, HMI, plant control systems, and instrumentation systems.
Provide technical support to maintain, troubleshoot and repair power system components including breakers, relays, arrestors, transformers etc.
Evaluate and implement necessary power distribution, automation and motor control infrastructure upgrades or enhancements to ensure reliable operation. Develop and implement CAPEX projects related to electrical and automation infrastructure improvements.
Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Strengthen supply chain by selecting best of class products and fostering relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
Clearly articulate ideas or issues to management.
Provide Support to the Corporate Engineering Department.
Work with training coordinator to set up and organize training sessions for Technicians.
Assist Electrical Manager with reporting, general operations and planning, audits and future planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
5 years minimum professional Electrical Engineering experience, required. Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance management of electrical equipment related to a large industrial facility, such as MCCs, VFDs, transformers, power lines, Large AC and DC motors, DC generators, etc.
Experience with Industrial Control products (PLC, VFD, DCS and HMI).
Ability to interpret and create ladder logic diagrams, logic diagrams, process flow diagram and electrical schematics.
Basic understanding of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
Able to assimilate and embrace change.
Safety minded.
Knowledge of Cement process and lab instrumentation a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and reasoning skills; strong supervisory skills.
Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite including MS Project.
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.

Cross-Functional Team (CFT) Activities
Act as technical lead for the cross-functional product development team, leading and/or supporting the CFT for key project tasks (e.g. design reviews, BOM management, cost modeling, make/buy analyses, DFMA studies, DFMEA, DVP&R, & development schedules and project reports)
Effectively support & interact with offsite resources - e.g software development team, test labs, etc. -to ensure continuance of the product development process
Represent Dometic Marine in customer / supplier interactions, including troubleshooting, problem solving, line audits, trade shows, presentations, etc.

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer 2 position with a minimum of 3 years experience in Building Systems Design. A candidate will only be considered for a position that has experience in this field. Experience must be verifiable and aligned with U.S. industry standards, including familiarity with applicable codes (NEC), regulations, and project delivery expectations. The ideal candidate will be expected to immediately step in to assist and provide support for all design aspects of assigned jobs. The candidate shall show a strong understanding of the electrical engineering discipline and have the ability to provide immediate support for a fast paced department. Candidate must have working knowledge of Revit (preferred), MEP Building System Design and/or AutoCAD.
Basic Job Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be to assist the team with developing, designing and planning power distribution and lighting systems in accordance with job, client and owner specifications including but not limited to:
Kick-off meetings with design team, clients and owner to develop a scope of work for project.
Site visits to determine existing conditions and document all associated systems included in scope of work.
Conveying all information required for submissions on all design deliverables.
Layout, sizing and specifying required equipment.
Details and specifications relating to project.
Must be able to produce load calculations.
Attend meetings and have the ability to communicate clearly and thoroughly with clients and establish their needs and discuss designs and design issues.
Ability to coordinate and interact with all other trades.
Meet all deadlines as assigned.
Work well with other designers, engineers and other project managers within the office environment.
Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, accept responsibilities and take on new challenges as presented.
