Orion Engineering has an immediate opening for junior Structural Engineers in our Honolulu, HI office. The junior Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing structural design engineering support for the construction of marine and heavy civil structures. Typical projects may include port facilities, wharves, liquid cargo terminals, container terminals, cruise terminals, bulkheads, docks, piers, or marinas. Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards. Engineering Inspections: Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements. Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan. Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. Education Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an ABET accredited school in Electrical Engineering or similar degree. Experience Minimum of 6 years of professional consulting engineering experience with exposure to defense, water/wastewater, waterfront, architectural, industrial, or related projects. Registered Professional Engineer in Hawaii or ability to obtain Hawaii electrical license within 6 months. Other state engineering registrations such as California, Hawai'i and CNMI will be considered. Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certificate desired but not required.
