About the Role
We're hiring a full-time Electrical Construction Engineer / Field Engineer who can take charge of active job sites, lead technicians, coordinate daily field operations, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. This role is fully field based. You'll travel to project sites daily across the Northeast, supervise installation activities, solve issues in real time, and ensure that electrical and lighting retrofit work meets Oberon's quality standards. What you'll be responsible for
• Daily travel to job sites across MA, NH, and ME
• Supervise LED and electrical retrofit crews during day-to-day field work

What You'll Do
As an intern in this role, you may:
Electrical Systems
* Support design, layout, and documentation for HV/LV power distribution and signal networks
* Develop and test custom PCBs for sensing, control, and actuation
* Build, route, and validate wire harnesses across electrical, propulsion, and actuation subsystems
* Create and maintain schematics, harness drawings, and test documentation
Propulsion & Actuation
* Assist with the electrical integration of propulsion and actuation systems
* Support testing of motors, actuators, and power electronics with a focus on instrumentation and safety
* Troubleshoot hardware issues on benches, in the lab, and on the vehicle
Simulation, Testing & Tools
* Use modeling/analysis tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, etc.) to evaluate system performance
* Build and improve test setups, benches, and automated test equipment
* Capture and analyze data to support subsystem validation
What You'll Bring
* Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
* Experience with electronics lab tools (oscilloscope, power supplies, DMMs, loads, soldering tools)
* Understanding of digital, analog, or power electronics fundamentals
* Ability to interpret electrical schematics and/or mechanical drawings
* Interest in multidisciplinary engineering across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
Bonus Experience
* Experience with motors, actuators, sensors, or motor controllers
* Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
* Exposure to PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)

* Perform DC and AC testing on cable assemblies and connectors to ensure compliance with medical, IEEE, IEC, and industry-specific electrical standards.
* Evaluate EMI shielding effectiveness, dielectric breakdown, contact resistance, and insertion/extraction force testing.
* Perform accelerated ageing and life testing via temperature/humidity, autoclave and STERRAD testing.
Skills/Qualifications Needed:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or related field.
* 2+ years of experience in electrical testing, in high-speed cables, connectors, or medical device manufacturing.
* Hands-on experience with vector network analyzers (VNAs), oscilloscopes, TDRs, LCR meters, and other advanced electrical test equipment
