The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, perform equipment, systems, and design evaluations and provide general engineering support for defense or commercial systems. Responsibilities: Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro-mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis in order to recommend component substitutions or re-design solutions to ensure the integrity of the platform configuration, system safety, and performance specifications Access, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules. The Engineer will support Program Office activities to include assisting FAALC Integrated Logistics Support Managers (ILSMs), Provisionary, and management in the setup and supply support activities necessary to ensure the FAALC can support and/or sustain new system equipment. The Engineer will complete other duties as assigned to include Technician and Production Control Support, Field Support, and Product Structures. Perform engineering studies related to testing, modification, design, monitoring, remote control, interfacing, and other requirements on equipment. The deliverables may include an engineering report and cost estimate package for design, procurement, installation, testing, and evaluation of prototype systems. Provide the technical expertise, materials, and fabrication effort to design, install, test, and evaluate equipment. Provide hardware and software documentation, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to implement proposed changes to equipment on a national level. Provide technical support of the FAALC test bed facilities located at MMAC as required. Provide technical support to field organizations through telephone assistance or onsite assistance. Provide equipment installation, and other maintenance related support for Headquarters National Airway System, ATO Service Areas programs and projects, and other Government agencies requiring FAALC support. Provide technical and logistical support for new systems acquisitions by participating in systems level integration, validation, certification of equipment and other acquisition support as required. Provide technical and logistics support for configuration audit management and provisioning efforts associated with supply support objectives. Provide complete drafting services in support of the FAALC including operations and maintenance of the drafting file system, reproduction of drawings, preparation of engineering drawings, electronic artwork and electronic media. Other duties as assigned. Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical and electromechanical designs for new products. Assist in the development of fabrication/repair cost estimates for machining, sheet metal, paint, corrosion prevention, electrical cable assemblies. Development of prototyping various components for NAS/CBP systems Creation and modifying bill of materials and product structures for various NAS/CBP components. Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software. Utilized experience in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD Creation and modification of technical drawings Analyzing metal material properties such as strength, hardness, toughness, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and temperature performance and determine appropriate application. Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods. Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics and materials. Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from customers. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. Education A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required Experience Experience shall include performing analyses of electronic and/or electrical components and systems, developing specifications, designing modifications and revisions, identifying part and item substitutions, and producing engineering technical documentation. Years of experience: 0 License, Cert or Registration Proof of U.S. citizenship This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
