We're looking for a Civil Field Engineer to join our EPC Project in the nuclear power plant environment in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced Civil Field Engineer to provide technical support for civil and structural construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications for capital and maintenance projects within a fossil and gas power plant environment.
Key Responsibilities are below:
Coordinating with the construction team members to align Field Work Packages (FWP) strategy and constructability with Project Management expectations
Coordinating with Project Controls Manager to confirm Project Work Face precursors have been completed and sequencing of FWP work activities are aligned with Project Management Team expectations
Coordinating with the Design Authority to compile all relevant FWP documentation associated with a specific Project Work Face
Coordinating with the Project Quality Manager (PQM) to incorporate the relevant inspection and test activities associated with execution of the FWP work activities
Approving the final FWP and project readiness for Project Team Members and/or Subcontractors to proceed with work execution.
Responsible for the project complying in the chain of custody and the control of handling of material in the field per the Materials Management Procedure, for all materials being installed in the field, and documented in the work packages
Gatekeepers for the review of all relevant FWP Generated documentation and submittals (e.g. Final Inspection & Test Reports, Equipment Performance Data, Nonconformance Report (NCRs), Subcontractor Substantial Completion Certificates; and when required personnel qualification and/or certificates (e.g. Welders, Weld Inspectors, 3rd Party Inspectors)
Lead the FWP Final Walkdown, document and track all open items to closure.
Transmit FWP Closed Final Walkdown package to the Project Management Team for signature and preparation for turnover readiness.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma
5+ years of experience in civil and/or structural field engineering
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with construction sequencing and site coordination.
Experience working under an ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program
In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $79,000 - $193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The Naval Reactors Facility Lifting and Handling Engineering team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to support a wide range of tasks to maintain reliable, high-quality cranes and weight handling equipment. These tasks include but are not limited to:

* Assist in providing solutions related to heavy civil, transportation and water projects and construction operations
* Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
* Order and schedule material deliveries
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
* Supervise field operations
Office Engineering:
* Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents
* Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
* Assist engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
* Participate in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
* Schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others
* Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
* Enter data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
* Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager
* Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
Estimating:
* Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
* Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Estimator
* Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
Qualifications
* Must be willing and able to work in the Heavy Civil, Construction Industry
* Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related degree, examples are civil engineering, mechanical, construction management, mining, geotechnical
* Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (written and verbal), planning, and organization
* Willingness to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requires as we operate on a national scale, not regional
* Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
* Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
* Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time including working rotating schedules, shift work, or weekend work as required by projects
* Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
* Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
* Strong time management ability and attention to detail
* Must have a valid Driver's License
* Reliable transportation to and from work
* Previous internship experience is preferred
* Ability to begin or continue working with our company without requiring sponsorship for employment now or in the future

Base Compensation: $82,000 - $90,000
