ASIC RTL Design Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with architects and design leads to understand features to be designed and implemented
• Reviewing and writing micro-architecture specifications for logical blocks within the graphics architecture
• Being a pro-active design team member to implement RTL logic using Verilog and System Verilog
• Reviewing test plans to ensure the verification strategy covers all aspects of the design
• Resolving design related synthesis issues with area, timing, and power
• Analyzing pre-silicon and post-silicon test failures to determine root cause
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have professional experience in RTL level ASIC design
• Must be proficient in Verilog, System Verilog, and working in Linux and Windows environments
• Must have ASIC design knowledge and be able to debug Verilog RTL code using simulation tools
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and good coding skills
• Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills
• Must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Graphics pipeline experience is preferred
EDUCATION:
• Must have a BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (MS degree preferred).

**Your Impact**
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
+ Work under guidance of experienced engineers on all aspects of substation design during internship
+ Participate in development of substation design components including: One-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications, physical layouts, sections/elevations, cable and conduit plans and details, ground grid, foundation, and structural plans, control enclosure, lightning protection, yard lighting plans, bills of materials
+ Learn and adhere to client standards and processes
+ Work independently or within a team to complete complex, challenging designs
+ Perform design calculations using industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc.)
+ Assist senior engineers with QA/QC design checks
+ Possible participation in site visits

**Required Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
+ Must be 18 or older.
+ Demonstrated interest in consulting engineering, electric utility industry, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

FMPA Engineers and Member Services staff will provide oversight, guidance and the necessary training in the use of the software platforms. Other assignments will be in related fields as agreed and as time allows. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about real apparatus and design conventions applied at electric power plants and in electric utility distribution systems in the field while gaining experience using widely adopted electric power industry software platforms.

The Opportunity
Lead electrical design and project management for education and commercial buildings, coordinating across disciplines and with architects and owners. This PM-level role suits an Electrical PE with ~8-12 years in an MEP consulting environment who can own client interaction, run project meetings, and mentor junior staff.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Own projects end-to-end: scope, schedule, budgets, design delivery, QA/QC, construction support.
Lead multi-discipline coordination (mechanical, plumbing, FP, technology/low-voltage, commissioning); interface closely with architects and owners.
Execute electrical systems design for commercial and institutional facilities (focus on medium-voltage distribution within facilities; low-voltage experience is a plus).

Plan and run internal/external project meetings; document decisions, risks, and action items.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Active Florida PE (or ability to obtain via comity within 1 year).
8-12 years of electrical design experience in an MEP consulting firm (PM-level responsibility).
Demonstrated expertise in:
Medium-voltage building distribution
Lighting (interior/exterior), standby power, surge/lightning protection
Revit (strong, hands-on proficiency); Word/Outlook/Excel familiarity
Codes: Solid knowledge of NEC/NFPA and Florida/local electrical requirements (SREF/FBC exposure for K-12 is a plus).
Strong client-facing communication skills-written, verbal, and presentation.
Stability: Consistent tenure; we generally avoid resumes with many 1-2 year stints.

Job Overview
The selected student would be responsible for updating or creating one line and three line diagrams in AutoCAD. Settings review in ETAP PowerStation (modeling of large electric power plants). Produce bid documents consisting of layout drawings, one-line, riser, schedules, details, and specifications. No experience in these software platforms is required. FMPA Engineers and Member Services staff will provide oversight, guidance and the necessary training in the use of the software platforms. Other assignments will be in related fields as agreed and as time allows. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about real apparatus and design conventions applied at electric power plants and in electric utility distribution systems in the field while gaining experience using widely adopted electric power industry software platforms.
Required Program of Study
