Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Layout
• Interpret structural, mechanical, civil, and architectural drawings.

• Confirm tolerances, placement accuracy, anchor bolt patterns, centerlines, and equipment alignment.
• Maintain current versions of drawings, shop details, lift plans, and installation manuals onsite.
Work Planning & Coordination
• Develop daily and weekly work plans with the Superintendent and Foreman.
• Identify material, tool, equipment, and access needs ahead of installation.
• Assist with crane/lift planning, rigging requirements, and sequencing.
• Track and update progress quantities and crew production rates.
Documentation & Controls
• Initiate, track, and close RFIs, submittals, and field clarifications.
• Maintain weld maps, bolt torque logs, pressure test records, and material traceability as applicable.
• Support inspection activities with GC, Owner, and third-party inspectors.
• Update redlines and as-built drawings for project turnover.
Safety & Quality
• Support completion of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task plans.
• Verify work is performed in accordance with drawings, codes, and installation standards.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
Communication
• Serve as a day-to-day technical point of contact between Project Manager, Superintendent / Foreman, Fabricators / Vendors, Inspectors & Client Representatives
• Ensure field issues are communicated early and resolved quickly.

NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the FPL Power Generation Solar Operations Team. PGD Field Engineer shall be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar and or battery facilities inside the state of Florida.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Engineers on the FPL solar team will spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar and battery facilities. This also includes performing routine task such as preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and root cause analysis. At times, PGD Field Engineer will be on-call and responsible for the East FL Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM's, Vendors and Contractors as required.

Mentor and guide the development of the group
Identify and follow up on client needs that may result in strategic opportunities

Prepare/Coordinate multi-discipline proposals
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Lead the design and development of electrical and mechanical systems specifications for commercial projects.
Specify electrical equipment and instruments, including pressure, temperature and flow measurement devices, control panels, feedback devices, valve controllers and combustion electrical equipment such as thermocouples and ignitors.

Provide technical support and cost estimates to the sales and tendering group for new proposals.
As required, support redesign of GT components and systems to meet design and performance criteria, such as emissions, hardware life and cost.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience
5+ years of progressive experience in Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) product development, commissioning, systems development and/or controls development, simulation and field support of land based or aircraft/marine gas turbine engines.
Knowledge of GT control systems such as Speedtronic Mark V, Mark VI or Vie logic sequences and HMI screens and interfaces in Cimplicity. Working knowledge of Siemens T3000 and Emerson Ovation a strong plus.
Strong analytical, decision-making and organizational skills are required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: must be comfortable presenting technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
Experience with electrical component function and system design.
Knowledge of instrument calibration procedures and tasks associated with commissioning of gas turbines. The ability to perform associated hands-on fieldwork is strongly desired.
Working knowledge of GT support and ancillary systems such as fuel delivery, purge, instrument air and hydraulic supplies, understanding of associated limits and alarms and ability to troubleshoot and correct issues, being hardware or software related, is required.
Experience working with lean, premix combustion systems designs and the trade-offs between emissions, dynamics and control settings in real world applications. Lean premix combustion tuning experience and GT cycle knowledge a plus.
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills, including ability to motivate and influence others.
Proven track record of EHS leadership by example, including personal responsibility to prevent accidents, and reward and encourage proactive safety for teammates.

**Position Specific Description**
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the FPL Power Generation Solar Operations Team. PGD Field Engineer shall be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar and or battery facilities inside the state of Florida.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. **Engineers on the FPL solar team will spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar and battery facilities.** This also includes performing routine task such as preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and root cause analysis. **At times, PGD Field Engineer will be on-call and responsible for the East FL Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM's, Vendors and Contractors as required.**
