    Looking for a self-motivated Engine Harness Development Engineer who is responsible for the design, prototype, and documentation of engine, transmission, and electrified powertrain wiring harnesses to support conventional and electrified powertrain test cells located at the Chrysler Technical Center, in Auburn Hills Michigan. The engineer's responsibilities also include organizing and overseeing the build of such harnesses (both in-house and outsourced to a supplier), checking for errors, verifying operation, controlling inventory, diagnosing/troubleshooting issues in the field, and ensuring corrective actions are made when necessary. The Engine Harness Development Engineer will be expected to be able to read and interpret device transmittal information and be able to utilize that information to efficiently design wiring harnesses for dynamometer testing. In addition, the engineer will be required to interface with a network of product development engineers to gather required electrical information, work with technicians and third party suppliers to ensure harnesses are built to specification, document designs, and maintain the drawing database. Requirements Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET accredited university 2+ years of relevant work experience Strong background and hands-on experience in wiring requirements such as current, voltage, and electrical noise mitigation (proper grounding, shielding, twisted wiring) Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment Ability to guide technicians with work orders and direction for repairing / modifying wire harnesses Experience using MS Office and/or Google Suite applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Requirements: Masters degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET accredited university 5+ years of relevant work experience Experience in automotive and instrumentation wiring as well as experience with data acquisition systems and dynamometer operations Experience with wiring and operation of battery electric and hybrid electric powertrain system Experience with the repair / assembly of vehicles, engines, transmissions, etc Additional Must Haves: Location - 100% onsite at Auburn Hills 1st Shift - 6:30am-3:00pm No travel No driving a company vehicle required

Job Summary: The Controls Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, and the building of standard and customized industrial control systems for Automation Equipment. This position requires a strong technical ability in the fields of controls and electrical design and is for a motivated individual who enjoys a variety of responsibility. A drive to learn and expand skills and responsibilities is a must. Primary Functions and Responsibilities * Documentation of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems (i.e.: schematics, ladder diagrams, etc.) * Work with other members of the control systems design department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced safety, enhanced functionality, and reduced cost * Must have knowledge and experience using AutoCad to design controls and electrical hardware specific to customer project requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Standard industrial panel designs & components * Wiring methods * Power distribution wiring * Communications layout * Voltage levels and types and their isolation * MS Office Suite * Fieldbus Technologies (ex: Ethernet, IOLink) * Machine labeling syntax of electrical wiring, components, hoses, etc. and how to document this information in the schematics * Component sizing and wiring * Interfacing and communication with devices; analog, fieldbus, etc. * Risk Analysis Minimum Qualifications * One or more of the following: * 3 years of on the job working in AutoCAD and Excel * 3 years of on the job work experience in controls design, primarily focused in Industrial Automation * Understand and able to apply CE, UL, NFPA, RIA, etc. electrical requirements and standards to designs * Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and how these systems interact * Ability to adapt to/learn new controls technology and software * Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision * Understanding and communicating technical details Special Position Requirements * Requires excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the integrity of the equipment and/or the employer as a whole. * Willingness to participate in internal training to expand technical background * Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, taking on several projects at once. * Capable of reading electrical drawings in JIC as well as IEC standards * Requires ability to interact professionally with other departments, customers and suppliers * Ability to analyze problems, specify solutions and implement solutions.
