Electrical Engineer The Electrical Engineer provides fleet engineering, Subject Matter Expertise, and technical support for the power systems and electrical equipment used at Oglethorpe Power Corporation's (OPC) power generating facilities. This includes low, medium, and high voltage switchgear; motor controls center apparatus; segmented, non-segmented, and isophase bus work; digital protective relays; large electric generators; and generator step up and auxiliary transformers. Competency, knowledge, and experience are required in "industry standard" electrical testing with the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance with the associated power systems and electrical equipment. The incumbent shall be responsible for the OPC's fleet wide NERC PRC and MOD electrical testing program and related reporting to enable compliance with NERC/SERC standards. The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise with the design, selection, modification, and replacement of digital protective relays for plant power systems and electrical equipment.
