Based in our St. Louis or Kansas City locations, you will execute automation migration projects by evaluating customer legacy control systems, designing a modern replacement DeltaV control system and hardware infrastructure. The candidate will work with customers, other engineers, and project managers at Emerson.
AS AN INTERMEDIATE E&I ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST, YOU WILL:
• Provide technical responsibility for system hardware design for upgrade and new control system projects
• Responsible as technical lead coordinating work with other project disciplines, project management and customer representatives for projects
• Estimate hardware design and implementation efforts for proposals
• Manage scope and meet project schedules
• Leads development of hardware architecture for DeltaV control systems including: System hardware designs, network architectures, control panel layouts, loop / schematic designs, cable routing and schedules, instrument evaluations and location drawings, instrument index/IO lists, and P&ID development.
• Plan and executes hardware factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning, and start-up or hot cutover of control systems and field instrumentation at customer plant sites

• Experience in industrial plant control system design, testing and startup
• Experience in Distributed Controls Systems or PLC design and electrical design for projects
• Must convey a professional image with and build relationships with customers
• Must be comfortable in plant sites, and possess the ability to navigate staircases, ladders, scaffolding, and catwalks
• Must be willing to travel to end user locations and up to 15-25% of the year.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
