LOCATION:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Electrical Engineer works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and support daily productions activities. This is a managerial position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians and electronic technicians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations, and equipment installation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, the Electrical Engineer responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment, and circuitry in industrial plant setting
Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles
Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action
Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
Plans, directs, and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
Supports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently, and effectively
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience plus an Associate's degree
Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
At least three years of proven supervisory experience
Working knowledge of motor controls, VFD's, DC drives, Eddy Current Systems and/or Modicon system design
Installation, set-up and programming of PLC's (Allen-Bradley)
Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD software
Process control systems - set-up and program applications (Honeywell)
Instrumentation and calibration knowledge
Facility power distribution to include voltage up to 4160v, three-phase
Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling)
Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems
Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
Approximately 10% overnight travel

This Electrical Engineer II is responsible for unit electrical system designs for Trane Air-cooled Data Center Chillers. Responsibilities include main unit control panel and auxiliary control panel design and layout. Additional responsibilities include selection and qualification of electrical and electro-mechanical power components, electrical wiring, transformers, circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, variable frequency drives. This position will generate unit electrical designs, control panel prototypes, test documentation and reports along with product documentation necessary to release unit designs to production. Further equipment responsibilities also include integrating the following types of pre-engineered devices into the unit design: low voltage sensors, wireless and wired interconnection devices, and Trane developed HVAC control electronics.

* Develop control box layout designs, wire harness routing and transformer load calculations
* Develop factory test plans and analyze test data
* Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members

* Essential Job Functions:

* Troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments to production and safety equipment.
* Oversees the preventative electrical and electronic maintenance in accordance with established procedures.
* Plans, assists with planning, and installs new plant electrical and electronic equipment. Duties include implementing capital projects, staying within both schedule and budget requirements.
* Fill out all needed paperwork to record completed tasks, request needed tools and parts, and provide needed information to management.
* Documenting and managing system / process changes and improvements.
* Ensure environmental abatement plan PM's are completed by scheduled date.
* Program/Install/Research all instrumentation at the plant. Research and ensure critical spare parts are on-hand.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management or needed to continue effective operations.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
* Associate's Degree of equivalent experience
* Higher education or performance may be given preference
* A minimum of 5 years working as an electrical technician in an industrial setting, which included PLC, and 3 phase power systems training and experience. Note: Management may waive minimum requirements for this position based on experience and/or other circumstances.
* Ability to work as a part of a team with co-workers of various skill levels.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
