Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Lead and Senior Level System Design Engineers to support the Central Maintenance Computing (CMCS) in Hazelwood, MO.
The successful candidate for the Central Maintenance Computing (CMCS) team will focus on system engineering with an emphasis on avionics/electrical design, supporting the development of maintenance equipment that includes connections between equipment and aircraft subsystems, network infrastructure, and computing hardware for instrumentation and network system connections. The equipment and software for the CMCS are utilized throughout all phases of platform and weapon development and sustainment lifecycle. In this collaborative team environment, the individual will be responsible for developing, testing, and repairing the hardware design for the CMCS system.
As a System Engineer, the candidate will work closely with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements, analyzing and translating these requirements into system, hardware, and software designs, as well as interface specifications. The System Engineer will also oversee testing and validation processes to ensure that system designs meet operational and functional requirements, while monitoring supplier performance to guarantee system integration and compliance with established requirements. Additionally, the engineer will address issues related to fielded hardware and software throughout the entire product lifecycle, researching specific technological advancements for potential application to the company's business needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Project lead activities for small projects, including performance management, schedule planning, and reporting through basic Earned Value Management.
Overseeing research of technologies for potential application to company business needs and support of road mapping activities for future capability planning.
System requirements development and analysis through customer interaction.
Managing parts selection of electrical systems, lab or flight test instrumentation and data acquisition, and leading subsequent supplier coordination and management efforts.
Overseeing design and documentation of electrical systems, components, connections, and interfaces including schematic analysis and design and review of electrical wiring,
Leading and directing all phases of project including direction to lab test personnel, managing system selloff/verification, problem resolution associated with fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle: hardware inspection, check-out, and test execution.
Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop system definitions/architectures and perform trade studies (includes integration with interfacing engineering disciplines model-based design toolsets).
Support the execution of all aspects of Systems Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, test, and production), using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.
Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years' experience with system requirements analysis and project planning.
5+ years' familiarity with electrical avionics system design including electrical schematic design, and electrical hardware/software integration.
Technical system domain knowledge (e.g. air vehicle and/or weapons).
Experience with product/systems development and integration.
Active US Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10+ Years of higher education and/or related work experience. (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.).

The Avionics system is the backbone of highly reusable, operable, and reliable space systems. As an Electrical Development Test Engineer at an early-stage start-up you will be responsible for developing test solutions used to qualify our flight avionics hardware. You will work closely with the development and production team to design and implement the avionics test architecture, and continuously iterate and improve your designs. You will seek out state-of-the-art solutions to difficult problems and you will assist in the definition of company standards for avionics development. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain custom test solutions for flight avionics electronics, power distribution system, batteries, RF components, and electro-mechanical actuators
Develop and implement a modular, scalable test architecture through use of commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and custom PCBAs for measuring signals, applying flight-like loads, and powering units under test
Write test automation software to interact with flight hardware/software, test equipment, instrumentation, and production systems
Execute development and qualification test campaigns to exercise designs to their limits and ensure reliable flight hardware including thermal cycling, random vibration, shock, TVAC, EMI/EMC, etc
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and propose/implement necessary changes to resolve
Maintain configuration control of test hardware and software

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Electrical Network and Digital Connectivity System Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Everett and Seattle, Washington .
Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network systems and digital connectivity solutions to support our cutting-edge aerospace projects. All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications including the physical integration of electrical systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide supplier base and leverage customer collaboration to implement high quality and service ready system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life. This is a hub requisition within Network and Digital Connectivity systems which includes but is not limited to Onboard Network Systems, Onboard Crew Wireless Connectivity, Offboard Communication Systems, Base Station E-Enabling, End-to-End Architecture testing and more. Responsibilities may vary based on project assignments and team priorities; not all listed duties may be assigned to every individual in this role:
Position Responsibilities :
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications
Coordination with suppliers on the development of hardware, software and interface specifications
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Participate as a contributing member to any airplane installation designs and certification efforts for Network and Digital Connectivity Systems and Airplane Programs
Work with external organizations within Boeing's Commercial Airplanes, Global Service, and Test & Evaluation organizations to establish holistic end to end functions that can be verified
Engage with airline customers to understand their intended use of Network Systems and Connectivity solutions
Develop operational use cases of systems and how to evaluate them
Utilize Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to develop architecture mapping and set the stage for simulated test environments
Develop and execute detailed, integrated test procedures/plans
Define and configure Lab setup for Testing
Participate in Flight Test evaluation of Connectivity and Network Systems
Create software scripts to support and/or automate testing procedures and analysis
Evaluate the performance, reliability, and stability of connectivity IP links (wired or wireless)
Work Authorization:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett or Seattle, WA location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
1+ years of experience working in an electrical design engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree.
Experience within Electrical Systems hardware and software design.
Experience in systems engineering involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification.
Familiarity with engineering processes and methods.
Knowledge of FAA certification.
Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program.
Experience working with cross functional teams.
Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment.
Experience with Model Based Development tools.
Experience with Linux/UNIX OS
Experience in computer networking systems, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in aerospace software and hardware environments.
