We are looking for a passionate Power Electronics Controls Engineer to help expand the Emporia Energy hardware ecosystem - initially by working on our upcoming Bidirectional EV Charger. Work will involve owning control loop design and verification for both AC/DC and DC/DC power converters and contributing to needed V2G, G2V, and V2H control designs. As a senior member of the Hardware Development team, the ideal candidate will be expected to work closely with and provide mentorship to peers and junior members of the team, as needed for this cross disciplinary project. Responsibilities
Own the design and validation of the control loop for bidirectional AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion hardware, including units involving the interconnection of multiple converters acting together as a single product
Act as a technical expert for bidirectional 10 kW+ level AC/DC and DC/DC control systems at all stages of design and verification; support other power related projects as needed
Design controls code for high voltage and high power systems and validate its functionality and performance
Work with our established firmware team to transition that code into production
Develop prototype firmware to enable hardware bring up and testing
Support the transition from new product development into high volume manufacturing including assisting with the development of production line testing methods
Lead and/or participate in design reviews and trade studies as needed
