    The Project Engineeer will support cross-functional engineering initiatives and help drive a high-performance operational culture in a plant that features conventional and additive manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will (1) bring a project management skillset to assist the General Manager and Operations Manager with driving productivity; (2) pull together part quality documentation in parallel with manufacturing to aid in putting together part quality packages that will allow more time for inspectors to inspect parts; and (3) manage the environmental, health and safety and 6S sectors of the plant, promoting safe work practices and ensuring the facility is in regulatory compliance. This is an exempt salaried position reporting to the General Manager. Role requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance or higher. API plant operations are conducted Mondays through Thursdays.     Job Purpose: The Project Engineer (PE) supports project managers and field teams in planning, coordinating and executing CROM's projects safely, to the highest standard of quality and with purpose driven efficiency. This role ensures technical accuracy, efficient project documentation, material procurement and overall project support from preconstruction through project closeout. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Project Coordination & Technical Support Review plans and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and scope alignment. Assist Project Managers in reviewing and interpreting contract documents, drawings, and specifications. Prepare and review submittals, shop drawings, product data, and technical documents. Maintain and update project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to ensure timely resolution of issues. Coordinate with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Attend coordination meetings and track action items. Support field operations with layout verification, quality checks, and documentation. Support field installation by resolving technical questions and providing clarifications. Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations. Procurement & Material Management Assist with purchasing materials, equipment, and specialty components. Track delivery schedules and lead times to avoid delays. Coordinate with vendors to ensure products meet project requirements and specifications Quality Control & Compliance Support implementation of QA/QC procedures specific to the specialty trade. Verify that installation methods comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and manufacturer Document observations and support corrective actions as needed. Cost & Documentation Management Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and billing support. Prepare change order requests and gather supporting documentation. Maintain accurate and organized project files, drawings, and correspondence. Scheduling & Budget Tracking Help develop and maintain project schedules, including look-ahead updates. Track project costs and assist with budget monitoring and reporting. Documentation & Reporting Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and billing support. Prepare change order requests and gather supporting documentation. Prepare progress reports for internal teams and clients. Maintain accurate and organized project files, drawings, and correspondence. Safety & Compliance Support enforcement of CROM's safety policies and procedures. Participate in jobsite safety walks and document safety observations. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Communication & Coordination Act as a liaison between project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams. Participate in project meetings and communicate field conditions or concerns promptly. Project Closeout Compile and prepare O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and warranty documentation Track and finalize project punch list items. Support turnover to the client and ensure all contractual closeout requirements are met. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or an equivalent technical degree, or equivalent and qualifying industry expertise. Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel. Valid Driver's License, with a clean driving record and Insurance. Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a specialty contracting discipline. Internships or 1-3 years of industry experience desirable. 30 Hour OSHA Certification Construction internship Concrete industry experience. Proficiency in MS Project or other related scheduling software. Proficiency in Procore Proficiency in Bluebeam software. First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification. Other Requirements: Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient with construction management software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Problem-solving orientation with willingness to learn technical trade skills. Strong skills in scheduling, submittals, and document control. Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies. A hands-on training period will be required for the individual to become familiar with the construction of prestressed concrete tanks and the use of repair materials and methods utilized for infrastructure repair. Working Conditions: Travel: This position will require that the Project Engineer travel in the assigned territory, field deployed, and assignment dictated by the number of projects in the area at any given time and as required by the Regional Team and Director of Construction. Travel to project sites, vendor locations, or coordination meetings. Mix of office and field work depending on project requirements. Projects in other areas/territories and with other Regional Managers/ Regional Leads may be assigned as fluctuations occur in the workload of the assigned Regional Manager/Regional Lead.
