The Data Center Engineering Analytics and Modeling (DCEAM) organization is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to lead grid to rack electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations for AI data centers. You will develop detailed MV/LV power system models from the utility source through the IT load to analyze transient performance, harmonic distortion, protection, grounding, and UPS-generator interactions. These models will be used to ensure power quality, stability, and reliability across all operating modes. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Inspector to support infrastructure and facility projects with our direct client. The position involves both engineering design review and field quality assurance/inspection duties, ensuring compliance with USACE standards, NEC, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, experience in construction oversight, and the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful, compliant projects. Design and Technical Oversight: • Review and evaluate electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance with USACE, NEC, UFC, NFPA, and other federal standards. •Support design development for low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, and communication systems. • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated system design. •Prepare design analyses, technical reports, and recommendations to support project development and execution. •Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and life-cycle cost evaluations. •Construction and Quality Assurance •Conduct field inspections and quality assurance surveillance for electrical systems and related works. •Monitor Contractor Quality Control (QC) operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. •Receive, review, and process submittals and shop drawings using RMS; ensure proper documentation, review, and reporting. •Prepare and submit daily inspection reports documenting progress, labor, materials, and any observed deficiencies. •Maintain records of materials, test results, and “as-built” conditions. •Conduct joint, pre-final, and final inspections and verify corrective actions are completed. •Inspect safety precautions and enforce corrective measures for noncompliance. •Participate in commissioning and testing of electrical and control systems.
