Under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer, a Co-Op student will be exposed to: · Perform electrical design of lighting, power distribution and communication systems including fire alarm systems. · Collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter/Designers on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) · Apply engineering calculations across multiple projects · Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and circuits · Research commercially available equipment and select equipment appropriate for project/client needs. · Solve complex problems during both design and construction phases of MEP projects · Provide excellent communication to all stakeholders Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions. Requirements · Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program · Successful completion of Sophomore or Junior Year · G.P.A. - 3.3 cumulative or above · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and effective user support · Capable of engaging in physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, crouching and lifting up to 50lbs The Work Environment: · Work environment is primarily indoors at firms' facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.) · While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights.
