We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer who will work as a member of a dynamic team working in a fast paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as an Engineer on electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country. We are currently in search of an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer who will be based onsite at our combined cycle plant, the Bobby C. Smith plant in Rincon, Georgia. Electrical Engineer The Electrical Engineer provides fleet engineering, Subject Matter Expertise, and technical support for the power systems and electrical equipment used at Oglethorpe Power Corporation's (OPC) power generating facilities. This includes low, medium, and high voltage switchgear; motor controls center apparatus; segmented, non-segmented, and isophase bus work; digital protective relays; large electric generators; and generator step up and auxiliary transformers. * Competency, knowledge, and experience are required in "industry standard" electrical testing with the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance with the associated power systems and electrical equipment. * The incumbent shall be responsible for the OPC's fleet wide NERC PRC and MOD electrical testing program and related reporting to enable compliance with NERC/SERC standards. * The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise with the design, selection, modification, and replacement of digital protective relays for plant power systems and electrical equipment. * As a member of the Technical Services team, the incumbent will also provide engineering support for the review of drawings, specifications, and design memoranda for generation projects in development or under construction. Job Description We are currently in search of an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer who will be based onsite at our combined cycle plant, the Bobby C. Smith plant in Rincon, Georgia. Electrical Engineer The Electrical Engineer provides fleet engineering, Subject Matter Expertise, and technical support for the power systems and electrical equipment used at Oglethorpe Power Corporation's (OPC) power generating facilities. This includes low, medium, and high voltage switchgear; motor controls center apparatus; segmented, non-segmented, and isophase bus work; digital protective relays; large electric generators; and generator step up and auxiliary transformers.
