What You'll Do
Engineering:
· Review, sign, and seal pertinent deliverable documentation, including technical reports and construction drawings
· Ability to validate conductor sizing and system protection.
· Complete the transmission structure design process, including Field Investigations, 3-D Modeling utilizing PLS CADD, direct embed foundation design, completion of technical reports, and PE stamping of said project.
Project Management:
· Manage high-voltage transmission, distribution, and substation construction/maintenance projects. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, subcontractors, or engineers to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
· Communicate with clients to ensure projects comply with UTC deadlines and all applicable state administrative codes & requirements. Create all technical documentation templates that are transmitted to the clients per stated contract deliverables.
Leadership:
· Mentor junior engineers to develop their engineering aptitude and enhance their technical knowledge.
· Other duties as needed.
What You'll Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in the construction or utilities industry.
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
· Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
· Must be willing to travel, short-term.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
· Accurately and professionally represents Potelco with customers, clients, and subcontractors.
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.

· Valid driver's license.

What You Will Do:
Responsible for electrical design/verification, integration, testing and commissioning of power distribution, site grounding, UPS and emergency generation systems.
Simultaneously managing all aspects and resources of capital projects from inception through completion.
Responsible for process instrumentation specification and I/O Panel design.
Lead technical discussions to support the specification, acquisition, installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of electrical equipment.
Responsible for compliance to NEC and NFPA 70E requirements for electrical power distribution systems up to 13.2kV.
Analyze the site's electrical systems for efficiency and identify and implement projects to reduce usage.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience with industrial power distribution operations, maintenance, or manufacturing
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience configuring and commissioning Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens and Allen Bradley.
Experience with process control such as Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Bailey DCI System 6 or equivalent Distributed Control System (DCS).
Experience interpreting and updating Electrical Drawings (One Lines, Elementaries, Wiring Schematics, Panel and Loop Drawings).

Job Summary:
The Transportation/Civil Project Engineer will work closely with other engineers, technical specialists, and clients to successfully deliver innovative solutions for our client's challenges. They work as a key team member of highway/roadway/bridge and other infrastructure projects across all of Keller's offices. This individual will focus on multi-discipline projects performing independent engineering and design calculations to develop solutions to some of the toughest transportation challenges across the region.
Responsibilities include:
Participate in all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction for a variety of federal, state, and local clients
Using local or AASHTO standards, develop horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, utility plans, traffic control plans, signing and striping, roadway drainage including hydraulic reports, and right-of-way plans
Analyze engineering and survey data and interpret design standards and guidelines to make sound decisions and solve design challenges
Work with multidisciplinary technical teams on a variety of project sizes
Provide exceptional client service
Develop plans, specifications, and estimates using Civil 3D or OpenRoads, MS Office programs, Bluebeam, and other design software
Develop intimate familiarity with design standards, processes, and procedures
Assist with technical memoranda, engineering reports, and planning studies
Assist with construction administration services
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D experience is preferred not required
Design experience is desired with a strong interest in civil engineering and transportation design
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with multiple priorities

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
