Raytheon's Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology within Raytheon. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support to production builds, and lifecycle support of Raytheon products.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Principal RF Design Engineer who is seeking to utilize their academic background and professional experience in RF / Microwave system theory and design to help develop the next generation of Raytheon's Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.
What You Will Do:
Architecture development, requirements analysis, hardware design, hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems.
Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.
Design and optimization of RF circuits - either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).
Working with interdisciplinary teams - power, digital, mechanical, etc.
Schematic capture and RF routing.
Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities.
Cost and schedule management plus proposal writing.
This 1st shift position will be 100% on-site and based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' of prior work experience.
Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test.
Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience working in design, from concept through production.
Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
