General Summary:
The Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for leading the preconstruction phases of project for their assigned division that includes sales, project design, budget and managing the bidding process. The Preconstruction Manager will report to the Division Manager.

Prepare and Present Conceptual Estimating

TITLE: MEP MANAGER, ELECTRICAL LOCATION: Abilene, TX - Night shift (6pm-6am) POSITION SUMMMARY: The MEP Manager, Electrical will lead efforts coordinating the Electrical trades on major construction projects and work with the Project Team to ensure successful installation and completion of all MEP trade work. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Works overtime.
Works rotating shifts during outages or if requested.
Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.
Anticipates typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action with minimal supervision/additional training. Troubleshoots equipment, diagnose problems and repair with minimal supervision/additional training.
Operates other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a 3rd class E&I Technician with minimum required instrumentation training/experience. Licenses required as necessary to comply with State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies or if Electrician, licensed as necessary by State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership
Under the direction of the Facilities Director, manages and directs the daily work of the Grounds/Facilities Support staff. Supervises bargaining unit staff (e.g., approves leave and authorizes overtime as appropriate; conducts annual employee evaluations, takes corrective discipline action when needed, recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions; participates in employee selection process, orients, and trains staff); reviews and develops processes for efficient operations to meet the needs of campus staff, faculty, and students; collaborates with other campus services and departments. Works in cooperation with other key areas of the College (e.g., Compliance, Police Department, Information Technology, etc.).
Facilities Management
Provides supervision of snow removal operations and oversees landscaping responsibilities, including transplanting, removing, pruning, and planting flowers, trees, and bushes, and mulching. Oversees chemical inventory and application. Coordinates parking lot maintenance to include patching potholes and signage.
Oversees and coordinates moves and event set-ups as well as the College's recycling program.
Ensures assigned work and scheduled functions are carried out in a timely and quality manner. Inputs work orders and monitors the work order system to ensure timely completion and follow-through.
Administrative
Performs related administrative duties. May prepare various reports, records, and other documents; responds to emails and phone calls, attends various trainings and meetings. Carries out, explains, interprets, and enforces college policies, safety procedures and the collective bargaining agreement.
Establishes and maintains contracts with various vendors for services including ordering supplies, exterior drain maintenance, parking lot maintenance, and tree removal. Inventories and audits items including, but not limited to chemicals, uniforms, batteries, floor mats, supplies, tools, and equipment. Orders needed equipment and supplies. May request quotes for vendor purchases.
Coordinates and schedules repairs and maintenance of equipment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

The target salary range for this job is $60,000 to $65,000 annually. Must be able to demonstrate a basic mechanical aptitude and be able to operate basic maintenance, construction and landscaping equipment
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, be detailed oriented, dependable and possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Must possess a valid driver's license, have a satisfactory motor vehicle report at time of hire, and maintain it throughout the duration of employment with the University
