+ Conduct electric machine thermal design with models to simulate cooling performance and validate against hardware. Design hairpin winding solutions for minimum space and greatest efficiency/cooling performance.
+ Be a local expert on electric machine potting materials and techniques. Collaborate with legacy design resources (those without background/knowledge in electric machines). Advise project teams with fabrication and manufacturing solutions.
+ Collaborate with power electronics and software team to develop electric solutions for commercial vehicles. Help to develop hardware-in-the-loop test benches or hardware test benches for power electronics, motors, and controls. Help to integrate, test, and troubleshoot e-machines in electric- and hybrid-electric powertrains.
+ Help the development and improvement of work processes in electric machine mechanical design in the entire development cycles from requirements capture to prototype validation. Write reports to capture key learnings and technique, establish e-machine design practice leading to engineering standard workflow basis in this technology
+ Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area and influence technical direction within an intermediate team. Provides independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems, or services within a larger project team.
+ Minimum 3 years in relevant experience
**Skills** :
+ Basic knowledge of various motor topologies (PM, Induction, Synch-Reluctance, Switched Reluctance, etc.). Strong understanding of different motor architectures and winding theory. Involvement in middle to high-speed motor manufacturing development is preferred.
+ Analytical skills in resolving electrical power and thermal design challenges, including the modeling and design different thermal technologies for the electric machines.
+ Proficient in working with different simulation tools including Matlab/Simulink, Ansys/MotorCAD, CREO-CFD and thermal analysis tools.
+ Experience with design and application of mechatronics systems, including the mechanical design of electrical systems, harness, busbar and connectors, and product verification and validation, etc.
**Education** :
+ Master's Degree or higher is preferred
