The Electrical Superintendent position is responsible for the scheduling, coordinating, and supervising of all onsite electrical sub contractors for ICM projects.

Plan, assign, and coordinate project work with various electrical sub contractors to ensure continuous project workflow.

Determine method of construction, labor needs, material quantities, equipment needs, temporary power sources, and work schedule.

Complete electrical package take-offs, prepare electrical estimates and determine project scope of work.

Monitor work performance and productivity of craft sub contractors as assigned to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are maintained.

Advise senior level superintendent or project manager of potential problems and assist in resolution.

Maintain communication with project staff, engineering, and supply chain management to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

Assist in the reporting of the job’s progress to the Project Manager; maintain communication with other departments as required.

Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to issue purchase orders for all consumables, equipment and outside sub contractors.

Maintain accountability for all electrical project functions including resources, budget, and schedule.
Ensure all project work is completed in accordance with specifications, schedule, and safety.
Education/Certification:
Associates or Technical degree in related field required
Electrical license in various states preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
5 plus years electrical experience required
5 years industrial electrical experience required
Previous supervisory experience required
Microsoft Project experience required
Knowledge of National Electrical Code required
HART communicator experience preferred
Instrumentation experience preferred
AutoCAD experience preferred

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Up to 75% travel required or as needed. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. May be required to work in high, precarious places.

Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and Amentum. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm (day shift) or 5:30 pm to 4:00 am (night shift). The project work schedule is subject to change, and may require employees to work weekends, overtime, holidays, and/or night shift as business needs arise.

The Electrical Superintendent is assigned to the field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within the Electrical discipline. Supervises and directs craft professional activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance comply with specifications and within schedules and budget. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC. The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the planning and execution of all Electrical work performed by Bechtel direct hire craft professionals.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Supervises and directs craft professional activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
* Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications.
* Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
* Schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area and / or subordinate superintendents within that same area.
* Coordinates and directs multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts and superintendents of a single discipline covering multiple areas of the project.
* Plans and coordinates the installation of temporary and permanent power.
* Supervises installation of above ground raceways and supports, underground raceway, cable installation, cable and wire terminations, instrumentation, electrical equipment, medium and high voltage equipment.
* Performs effective planning of all work activities to ensure optimum performance and productivity of direct hire construction work performed on the project.
* Coordinates subcontractor work activities and interfaces on the project when required.
* Interfaces with Labor Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
* Optimizes the use of construction equipment and tools on the project.
* Provides constructability suggestions, input, and feedback.
* Provides leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project which includes conducting safety orientation of new employees.
* Inspecting the site for unsafe conditions and practices.
* Taking appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems, leading daily/weekly Plan of the Day and toolbox safety meetings.
* Ensures that all Bechtel, State and Federal safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline AND 9+ years of related experience, or completed an Indentured Electrician Apprenticeship Program AND 10+ years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree/Journeyman achievement, 15+ years related experience with an emphasis on Electrical.
* Must possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
* Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
* Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
* Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
Minimum Qualifications
* Related experience includes but is not limited to electrical field engineering; supervision of construction direct hire craft and construction related technical training.
* Basic Craft Professional and/or Staff Professional supervision experience with a strong electrical background.
* Experience in Construction Project Planning and Scheduling.
* Knowledge of Construction Quality Assurance.
* Knowledge of a single or multi discipline construction or engineering operations.
* Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
* Working knowledge of unionized labor.
* Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
* Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
* Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and technical database applications.
* Experience with lock-out/tag-out requirements and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
* Possess Nuclear Construction knowledge and experience including a commitment to a Nuclear Safety and Quality Culture.
* Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Safety Program and familiar with current industry safety standards.
* Knowledge and experience of the ISMS guiding principles and core functions.
* Experience in safety compliance and familiar with Bechtel processes and procedures.

Job Description:

* Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, and organize activities concerned with construction projects
* Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems

* Work with and communicate effectively with subcontractors, superintendents, office staff, engineering staff, consultants, and owner's representatives to facilitate project activities
* Represent customer in project meetings and attend strategy meetings
* Excellent troubleshooting skills for all aspects of Electrical Systems
* Provide Project Engineering management of current projects including Office Area Controls upgrades
* Answering questions of a technical nature during project execution
* Ensure equipment and overall system OAT/FAT process meets expectations
* Review with System Owner and provide technical verification of hardware and configuration of installations per design documents
* Review OAT documentation and conduct FATs on behalf of customer

Requirements:

* Minimum 10+ years verifiable electrical experience in field
* Minimum 3+ in Electrical supervisory role
* Five to ten years related experience in the construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 2-5 years experience in the Semiconductor Construction industry
* Extensive knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA)
* Ability to pass required drug screening and background check
* This is a safety sensitive position; ability to maintain the appropriate standards is required
