What does this role look like?
• Research, design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with analog or digital design.

Qualifications
Under close supervision, assists Electrical Test Technician II and III in performing limited tests required by the department. Under directive supervision, as he/she becomes qualified, will perform less complex test procedures involving connections to circuits carrying normal secondary voltages up to 250 volts.
Entry Level
High School Diploma or the equivalent and have a two-year electrical or electronic degree, or have the equivalent education plus two years' experience in electrical or electronic work.

As an Electrical Field Test Technician, you'll take charge of testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning power systems from low to high voltage. You'll also guide and mentor junior team members while working on complex, mission-critical projects in the field.
**What You'll Do**
+ Travel to client sites to **inspect, test, troubleshoot** , and **start-up** electrical systems
+ **Lead and mentor** Level I and II Trainees and Assistants in technical tasks and field operations
+ Assign work, review performance, and ensure consistent execution of testing procedures
+ Conduct **acceptance and maintenance testing** for switchgear, relays, transformers, cables, and motor control centers
+ Test and calibrate **solid-state and electromechanical relays** (including SEL 700G or comparable)
+ Operate tools and software such as **Enoserv RTS** , **Megger** , and **Omicron** testing equipment
+ Analyze test data, perform **insulated fluid sampling** , and interpret electrical performance issues
+ Complete Job Hazard Analyses, including **arc flash and shock hazard assessments**
+ Document all results in detailed **field service reports**
+ Rotate on-call duties for emergency response and service
+ Assist the sales team by providing **technical expertise** and recommendations
+ Ensure compliance with **NETA** , **NFPA70E** , and ABM safety and quality standards
**What We're Looking For**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ 5+ years of experience in **electrical testing and power system services**
+ Current **NETA Level III or IV** , or **NICET equivalent certification**
+ Proven experience leading and mentoring technicians in the field
+ Ability to manage **multi-month, medium to large-scale projects**
+ Familiarity with NETA ATS/MTS Standards and **NFPA70E**
+ Proficient in **lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures**
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
+ **Clean driving record** and ability to travel nationally (up to 90%)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Associate's degree or higher in **Power Systems** or related field
+ Skilled in troubleshooting electrical faults, especially ground faults
+ Familiarity with **generator controls** , **protection systems** , and high-voltage substations

What does this role look like?
This is a lead role for an experienced professional working to sustain legacy test consoles that verify mission packages meet all requirements as built. In this role the you will lead a team of engineers, interface with internal organizations, and interface with our customer set, supporting the FBM program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Utilize your engineering knowledge and troubleshooting skills to sustain test consoles and support FBM production testing.
• Lead design updates to existing test consoles when obsolescence or operational inefficiencies are identified.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for multiple consoles with Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA).
• Support Failure Review Board activities through closure as the cognizant authority.
• Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to maintain console operational status
• Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with out customers, as well as senior leadership.
• Must be willing to travel approximately 25%.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
• Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
• 5+ years professional experience.
• While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.
