Installs and connects all types of wires in residential units and TNHA facilities to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other components using appropriate hand tools as well as power tool and other equipment to test connections and ensure the compatibility and safety of components. Installs, maintains, and upgrades existing electrical systems and equipment, both high and low voltage, including lighting systems, fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment; inspects circuits for specified shielding and grounding. Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment; repairs by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning and repairing motors. Documents information in preventive maintenance files on electrical equipment, machinery, and monitors a preventive maintenance program. Must be able to work in a professional manner with coworkers, clients, and community members, Provides on-the-job training for maintenance personnel and village residents in skills of general electrical trade. Observes TNHA safety rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Prepares and submits written work cost estimates, material lists and reports. Read & execute plans, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications for electrical wiring and other electrical systems.
