Electrician - We are searching for a talented and qualified Electrician who has proven experience with the safe and effective execution of electrical system repairs on industrial equipment. Working a rotating shift schedule to support continuous production operations, you will be responsible for safely executing a variety of electrical troubleshooting and repair work.
The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of motors, indicating systems, transformers, switchboards (low voltage), motor controllers, circuit breakers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and other electrical equipment essential for production performance in a manufacturing facility. Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. In this position, you should also be able to make decisions, troubleshoot, and perform repairs with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and systems for emergency repairs.
* Works from schematics, drawings, layouts or other specifications to install and test electrical systems or equipment
* Perform Preventive Maintenance Systems tests and inspections, documenting results.
* Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
* Uses test instruments to determine faults and replaces components
* Work with a range of hand tools including electrical test equipment.
* Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities
AV System Installation
Install and terminate audio, video, and data cables using solder, compression, or crimp connectors.

Rack and stack AV equipment per wiring diagrams and system schematics.
Commission and test installed AV systems to ensure performance and compliance with project specifications.

Schedule: 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM to Midnight, Monday-Friday Employment Type: Full-Time | Overtime Available
We are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Electrician to support our industrial manufacturing operations. The Electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, panels, lighting, motors, controls, and equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong industrial electrical experience who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and working independently on 2nd shift.
Key Responsibilities
As a 2nd Shift Electrician, you will:
Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems, wiring, circuits, motors, panels, and components
Diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, testing tools, and electrical schematics
Perform preventive maintenance, electrical inspections, and equipment calibration
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
Test electrical systems to ensure proper function and safety compliance
Document repairs, maintenance logs, inspections, and service information
Maintain inventory of electrical parts, supplies, and materials
Ensure all work meets electrical codes, safety standards, and company requirements
Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues quickly to reduce downtime
Support production equipment, lighting, controls, power distribution, and facility electrical systems
Perform overtime as needed to support production demands
Required Qualifications
Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship Program (required)
Technical or trade school training in Electrical Technology (preferred)
3-5 years of electrician experience - industrial or manufacturing environment highly preferred
Strong working knowledge of electrical theory, NEC codes, wiring methods, and electrical safety
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and ladder logic basics
Skilled in using electrical hand tools and power tools
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and working at heights
Valid driver's license
Willingness to work overtime as required
Preferred Experience
Industrial electrician or maintenance electrician experience
Experience with motors, VFDs, control panels, electrical enclosures, conduit bending, PLC basics
Electrical experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial facilities
Preventative maintenance program experience
Low voltage and high voltage experience

ABOUT THIS ELECTRICAL ROLE
This is a full-time position with on-call hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, primarily serving residential clients in the Buffalo area.
As an Electrician at Zenner & Ritter, your day begins with checking your schedule for service calls. You drive to residential locations, where you expertly troubleshoot electrical issues, perform installations, and ensure systems operate safely. Communication is key, so you keep clients informed about your work while maintaining inventory and collaborating with the office for smooth operations. You finish the day knowing you've made a positive impact on the safety and comfort of the homes you've worked in.
The Minimum Requirements to be Considered:
Experienced residential electrician
Valid journeyman electrical licenses in jurisdictions around Buffalo, or enough hours to qualify for a test
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety and compliance
