PURPOSE: Electrically troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex production equipment and systems. Primarily 1st shift schedule, could include 2nd, 3rd, split shifts, weekends, holidays, 12 hour shifts, on-call. Daily work activity is directed by the Group Leader and a Machine Repair electrician A. Reports directly to the department Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
Performs all task under general supervision.
Provides training and assistance to less experienced Electricians.
Assumes high level ownership during off-shift work periods related to work prioritization, production needs, and safety requirements.
Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair automated machines, process systems, and robotic systems to ensure they are working properly and safely.
Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
Assists engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data on parts and assemblies under varying operating conditions.
Collects, compiles and summarizes test data, and reviews results with engineering to resolve problems such as product or equipment issues, malfunctions and incomplete test data.
Diagnoses test equipment malfunctions, and services and repairs equipment as required.
Diagnose malfunctions and analyze results using testing devices, then repair and replace broken machine components
Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain combustion systems. Responsible for continuing education to keep up with changing technology.
Configure, commission, and test new equipment while making sure all maintenance and installations are well-documented, working properly, and operating safely.
Document repairs for regulatory purposes.
Perform bench work in repairing and maintaining production equipment and spare part assemblies. Oversee maintenance contract and service work as assigned.
Order and maintain spare parts.
Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.
Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Manager, Group Leaders, and coworkers to accomplish the desired result.
Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, ability to be on-call and must be able to work weekends, off shifts, and holidays as required.
Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. Assist in procedure/equipment upgrades as necessary.
Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.
Other duties as assigned by the department Manager.
May be asked to rotate between Mentor and Euclid facilities based on job training requirements.
Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must have successfully completed an Electrician Apprentice Program, an Associate degree/certificate in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or have equivalent job experience.
Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
Must have a basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting. Some knowledge of combustion and/or hydraulic systems may be required.
Must have a basic knowledge and experience in relay logic, industrial controls, electronics, and PLCs.
Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and engineering drawings.
Must have a basic ability to use a computer to communicate with machine control systems and PLCs. Must have a basic ability to diagnose the root cause of a problem, make repairs, and test for proper operation.
Ability to use various measuring devices (multi-meter, oscilloscope, megohmmeter, etc.) Excellent attendance required.
Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision. Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.) Be mechanically inclined.
Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 30 feet.
Must be able to wear a respirator.
Must be able to distinguish colors used in color-coding wires and electronic components. Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.

Job Summary:
This position oversees inspects, repairs, installs and wires all electrical apparatus devices and circuits of any voltage in the plant or assigned area.
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Working Procedure:
Observes all safety regulations.
Receives instructions from Maintenance Foreman covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installations and inspection work to be done.
Communicates details of work with supervision to effect the most logical approach to the job.
Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical principals, wiring, specification, codes, proportions of various material and principals of operation and application of equipment.
Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate, install and repair all electrical apparatus, devices, circuits, etc.
Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, adjust assemblies and lubricate electrical equipment taking all safety precautions.

What You'll Do:
Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts. After six months in classification, employee shall assist in work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision or assistance of personnel in higher classification
Select proper prints and/or drawings for various work and have a basic understanding of each.
Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation meggers and other test equipment associated with station work.
Assist in disassembling and reassembling, inspecting, maintenance, and repairing of station transformers, circuit breakers, portable substations, rotating machinery, network protectors and transformers, air ducts and heat exchangers; install and maintain station batteries; replace nitrogen bottles and air filters.
Assist in station work such as installing conduit, pipe, cable and wire; use hand lines to pass tools and materials; dig and backfill trenches; remove and spread stone; uncrate equipment and material; install and remove portable substation fences, barriers and safety signs; paint structures and equipment; climb station structures.
Use various kinds of tapes, insulating materials, protective and insulating paints and varnishes, and understand proper application of each.
Assist in making visual inspections such as check lights, heaters, circuit breaker counters, oil levels, and bus connections; read gauges such as voltmeters, ammeters, hydrometers, pressure and level gauges; apply start-run-stop tests on emergency generators, water and sump pumps and fire engine motors. Report abnormal conditions.
Replace lamps, switches, duplex outlets, dry cells; install and maintain signal and communication systems
Assist in various tests involving oil samples, connecting and operating portable and stationary oil handling equipment. Assist in electrical tests, TTR, Doble, core megger and resistance for transformer testing, etc.
Assist in station switching including use of radio communication and/or direct instruction from higher classification, assist in checking equipment clearances and making de-energized tests, place grounds as directed.
Knowledge and proficiency in steel and aerial lift rescue.
Maintain records and prepare and submit reports as required.
Attend and participate in training and assist in the training of other employees as assigned.
Use and operate various company vehicles, specialized equipment, hand and power tools.
Operate company vehicles, cranes, aerial lifts and specialized equipment. Perform duties incidental to the operation of such equipment
Use hand and power tools; operate portable generators, blowers and pumps; inspect and store personal protective equipment.
Knowledge and use of various knots used in station work.

Position Summary
Maintain safe, accurate and timely troubleshooting and project planning of machining maintenance, building maintenance and/or electrical projects to ensure that safety, quality and productivity goals are achieved on a daily basis.
Position Responsibilities
Layout and design electrical, air, plumbing and feeder systems through the building.
Execute on equipment diagnostics and troubleshoot as needed to improve product quality and productivity.
Perform electrical equipment component rebuilds as needed.
Coordinate electrical installations for new machines or relocation of old machines.

Respond to building support requests to include security response, fire protection issues, and ground/building maintenance as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on all department/site equipment as scheduled.
Complete contractor work permit, work orders and purchase requisitions as needed.
Work with suppliers and contractors to purchase required parts for servicing equipment and supervise outside contractors.
Utilize LEAN Thinking in formal and informal settings including participating in LEAN Events (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Projects, Just-Do-It), submitting Suggestions, attending LEAN Training, and improving work cell/areas of responsibility daily.
Use visual tools and display boards and update them as appropriate.
Document all changes resulting from LEAN activities according to ISO guidelines.
Accept and embrace change for continuous improvement.
Follow all company safety procedures in completion of job duties.
Verify that all safety-related devices, machine guarding, signage, etc. are in place and functioning prior to releasing equipment for production.
Wear required PPE for job function.
Participate in 6S events in the department and throughout the facility.

Knowledge of lock out, tag out procedures and locations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers by willingness to take on additional responsibility and/or support.
Substitute and back-up production/maintenance positions if and when necessary.

Support lean projects based on request (fabricate and relocate ancillary production equipment) as needed.
