In consultation with other technicians, performs a wide variety of technical duties including diagnosing/troubleshooting, repair or replacement of electrical and electronic circuits and equipment in support of production operations and electromechanical systems. Will work on a variety of CNC machines, lathes, mills, vacuum pumps, electronic machine controls/controllers and lasers. Equal amounts of time will involve troubleshooting equipment and to preventative maintenance. Candidate must be flexible in their approach to troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance. Must be able to take direction from Lead Technicians customers for equipment upgrades and other modifications. Direction may be communicated verbally or in writing with specifications/schematics. Performs research on parts, equipment, or other solutions as required to assist engineering and maintenance staff. Production electrical troubleshooting and repair skills are very important to this position. Ability to learn production equipment software, including program parameters and operating settings and a solid understanding of programmable logic controllers. Repairs are typically device level repair (soldering) or replacement. Under direct supervision, candidate will be assigned daily work. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, helps with movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, while maintaining a clean work environment. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
