Job Overview
The Chief Electrician supervises all Tradesmen and Facility Maintenance personnel, including Technicians, Electricians, Painters, and Carpenters. They mentor, coach, and train field staff to ensure high performance and adherence to maintenance standards.
What You Will Do
Execute and oversee processes and procedures related to preventive maintenance, response calls, energy conservation, safety, purchasing, expense management, and training programs within assigned divisions
Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities work within assigned divisions, directing both Facilities personnel and contractors
Develop and communicate written individual goals for each direct report annually
Actively manage, coach, train, mentor, and recognize field staff
Track and monitor key performance indicators, including WOMS productivity statistics, expense results, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction reports
Ensure all purchases by direct reports comply with purchasing procedures and utilize approved vendors and supply partners
Assist the Division Facility Manager (DFM) in preparing and submitting capital requests
Regularly interface with Store Management, Operations, Visual, and Asset Protection teams
Participate in the planning process for store-requested projects and provide progress reports as needed
Perform electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other facility management functions as required or permitted by the collective bargaining agreement
Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills You Will Need
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and facility maintenance. Ability to interpret technical documents and operate relevant tools and RF equipment.
Safety & Compliance: Deep understanding of safety protocols, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment
Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and train staff while effectively managing internal teams and external contractors
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
Communication & Collaboration: Effective verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams, including Store Management, Operations, and Asset Protection

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be required to act as team leader or project manager. Provides appropriate project work assignments of a group of assigned employees.
Inspects and troubleshoots electrical wiring, fixtures, appliances, motors, generators, pumps, power circuits, and controllers of machines and elevators, ascertains the nature of needed repairs and/or replacement; does whatever repair and installation work is necessary.
Installs, maintains, inspects, repairs, and services low tension power (below 600V) and light feeders, generating and control equipment, relays, transformers, motors, pumps, switches, outlets, signal systems, and other electrical wiring, cables, fixtures, and appliances of varied types. Does not work on cabling, gear or equipment above 600 Volts.
Maintains in good working order, performs preventative maintenance, replaces failed or worn parts on electrical fixtures, appliances, emergency lighting and other electrical equipment.
Makes emergency electrical repairs, troubleshoots malfunctions and breakdowns; inspects work in progress and completed work for defects, fire hazards, electric code violations or other unsafe conditions.
Uses and understands the nomenclature of various types of conduits and fittings, cables, insulators, and other equipment.
Follows safety guidelines and takes safety precautions.

REQUIRED:
