THEIR STAFF: N/A DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inspects buildings to detect and locate causes of electrical failures or breakdowns of equipment, and determines, recommends or executes corrective measures * Responds to campus work requests regarding assigned work and emergencies, taking appropriate corrective actions in compliance with departmental guidelines and University and state regulations * Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, operating manuals, schematic drawings, sketches, instructions or layouts in order to implement the required electrical and associated work * Plans and coordinates installation and wiring of equipment and fixtures such as motors and generators, switches, transformers, switchboards, and fuse boxes according to blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches * Tests, repairs, installs and maintains various types of electrical systems and equipment by operating the appropriate equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and functioning of necessary equipment * Repairs, maintains and operates electrical equipment (e.g., motors, generators, transformers, power panels, switchboards, regulators, wiring switches, control equipment) * Performs related duties such as reviewing technical literature to stay abreast of developments in the field;
