Removes defective electrical components and wiring by dismantling electrical devices; using electricians' tools, hoists, crane, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Repairs electrical machinery and equipment through the use of the appropriate methods; troubleshooting electrical circuits, rewiring, replacing electrical parts, repairing circuit boards, and diagnosing electrical control systems. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine electrical maintenance; monitoring compliance. Installs, modifies, and repairs wiring, circuits, and electrical components in machinery and production equipment. Maintains electrical equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock and communicating shortages to manager. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment, parts, and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; uses lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety practices, and ensures electrical systems are properly shut off before maintenance. Responsible for entry and maintenance in confined space and permit space enclosures; follows all Confined Space Restrictions, policies, and procedures; wears respirators when required; works in constricted environments. Provides electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Documents all repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections related to electrical systems. Summary of Position Functions We are currently looking for Electrical Journeyworkers of all levels to join our team for various commercial projects. Essential Position Functions Works at various heights by use of ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, and other manual elevated work platforms and areas. Wears a personal (waist) tool belt at all times while performing work on a jobsite which may weigh approximately 30 pounds when stocked. Complies with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, regulations and procedural requirements mandated by work performed that is of a qualified, defined safety sensitive nature. Maintains the equipment per manufacturer's recommendations. Responsibilities Execute a variety of electrical tasks by referencing maps, instructional manuals, specifications, field sketches, and blueprints Perform the basic tasks of material handling, jobsite housekeeping, and general labor Reference blueprints to perform basic and large wire terminations, wire-pulling procedures, terminate panels, motors, controls, and transformers Communicate professionally with customers so work is to their requirements Assist with general site preparation and clean up Remain up to date on Code requirements, hardware options, and industry best practices Support a safety-first culture and lead by example Qualifications Working knowledge of the construction process Dependable with quick response to management direction Self-motivated to provide a high-quality work product Professional verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail 1 - 5 years of electrical construction experience HS Diploma or equivalent Wear personal tool belt at all times on the jobsite Able to lifting 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day Ability to climb up and down a ladder safely Able to completing a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following: bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching over head, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers Able to dig trenches and excavations, either by use of hand tools or power equipment Able to safely operate two-handed tools/equipment such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers Access all levels of jobsite work area even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use Able to work a 40 hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required Good hearing and vision, normal or corrected Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on job location Able to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms and areas Able to work in and around restricted/confined spaces such as; manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean rooms, and raised metal floors **An OSHA-10 card is required for this role.
