Eversource Energy has a position available in the Substation Construction and Maintenance Department for an Electrician. In order to be considered for this opening, candidates should hold a valid Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrician license (or the equivalent) and have a CDL and Hazmat endorsement (or the ability to obtain both).
Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required and live within 30 minutes of the reporting location and pass the CAST TEST.
This position will be designated shift work with the possibility of Saturday as a workday and a four, ten-hour workweek may be scheduled.
The ability to work in inclement weather and be willing to work outside of your assigned district are required. Individual may be required to job-site report.

Responsibilities
We are looking for Electrician Helpers to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job can involve installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, bending, cutting, and threading various types of conduits, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts and repairing appliances. During the performance of your job you will be learning from and working under the supervision of Master or Journeyman Electricians. The ideal candidate must also be have an interest in different kinds of electrical devices and systems including but not limited to PLC's, cable trays, basic and advanced motor controls, data cables, tuggers, transformers, fire alarms, etc.. This position is intended to be an experience builder for people interested in developing a career in electrical work.
Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions.
Responsibilities
Assist electricians by performing assigned tasks under the supervision of an electrician Must keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion, maintain a clean work area at all times, and exhibit proper care for all tools and equipment. Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems Install commercial electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components Prepare and assemble conduit and connect wiring through them Perform other duties, as assigned
