Job Role Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installation and maintenance of the electrical power supply for the Hospital. This position works under general supervision and maintains all electrical equipment and related machinery as designated.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Models Eskenazi Health values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence
Responsible for installation/maintenance of the electrical power supply for the Hospital under general supervision and maintains all electrical equipment and related machinery as designated
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and wiring throughout the Hospital
Installs new/additional wiring, distribution centers (panels), electrical equipment and systems
Performs inspections and tests on electrical lighting, power circuits and equipment
Repairs electrical circuits and equipment
Clean and visually inspects all electrical panels/electric vaults
Responsible for the proper operation and performs preventative maintenance of the emergency power supplies (i.e. generators), auto transfer switches, according to JCAHO guidelines/standards
Responsible for the proper operation, repair and preventative maintenance on motor control centers and motors
Reads, interprets and works from blue prints and schematics
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a 4-year approved electrical apprenticeship program plus 2 years shop work
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience as a commercial or industrial electrician may be substituted in lieu of education and training requirements
On-the-job training provided as determined by the Supervisor
Licensure/certification required: Valid Indiana Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of materials and tools best suited to perform electrical work
Knowledge of electrical codes (i.e., National Fire Protection Association, state, local and OSHA requirements)
Knowledge of architecture and building construction (i.e., commercial and industrial)

Responsibilities
Use safe work practices and counsel other employees to do the same, as necessary.

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and computer-based control systems. Use computer skills and computer-related equipment to diagnose problems with production equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot combustion equipment including gas trains, automatic control valves, and other gas-fired equipment.
Understand, maintain, and repair process control loops.
Determine if production equipment needs to be repaired or services; coordinate machine downtime and repairs with production management.
Take an active role in the requisitioning of parts/materials necessary for the continued operation of the plant.
Perform preventative maintenance routines as scheduled and as needed.
Communicate maintenance issues with other shifts to ensure continuity of operation. Read and record comments in both Maintenance and Production logbooks.
Ensure housekeeping in the Maintenance Department is maintained to a safe level and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such area for breaks, meal times, and end of the shift. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Must be able to report to work on time and work all hours required of the job, including mandatory overtime; may be required to occasionally cover shifts other than the one for which hired.
Perform other work related duties and projects as directed.

The Station Electrician C employees perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. They assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. As Station Electrician C's progress through training and requirements, they move into higher level B & A roles.
Job Description
What you'll do as a Station Electrician C:
Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts. After six months in classification, employee shall assist in work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision or assistance of personnel in higher classification.
Select proper prints and/or drawings for various work and have a basic understanding of each.
Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation meggers and other test equipment associated with station work.
Assist in disassembling and reassembling, inspecting, maintenance, and repairing of station transformers, circuit breakers, portable substations, rotating machinery, network protectors and transformers, air ducts and heat exchangers; install and maintain station batteries; replace nitrogen bottles and air filters.
Assist in station work such as installing conduit, pipe, cable and wire; use hand lines to pass tools and materials; dig and backfill trenches; remove and spread stone; uncrate equipment and material; install and remove portable substation fences, barriers and safety signs; paint structures and equipment; climb station structures.
Use various kinds of tapes, insulating materials, protective and insulating paints and varnishes, and understand proper application of each.
Assist in making visual inspections such as check lights, heaters, circuit breaker counters, oil levels, and bus connections; read gauges such as voltmeters, ammeters, hydrometers, pressure and level gauges; apply start-run-stop tests on emergency generators, water and sump pumps and fire engine motors. Report abnormal conditions.
Replace lamps, switches, duplex outlets, dry cells; install and maintain signal and communication systems.
Assist in various tests involving oil samples, connecting and operating portable and stationary oil handling equipment. Assist in electrical tests, TTR, Doble, core megger and resistance for transformer testing, etc.
Assist in station switching including use of radio communication and/or direct instruction from higher classification, assist in checking equipment clearances and making de-energized tests, place grounds as directed.
Knowledge and proficiency in steel and aerial lift rescue.
Maintain records and prepare and submit reports as required.
Attend and participate in training and assist in the training of other employees as assigned.
Use and operate various company vehicles, specialized equipment, hand and power tools.
Operate company vehicles, cranes, aerial lifts and specialized equipment. Perform duties incidental to the operation of such equipment
Use hand and power tools; operate portable generators, blowers and pumps; inspect and store personal protective equipment.
Knowledge and use of various knots used in station work.
Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned.
Assist employees of equal or higher classification; direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
Become familiar with the Company's safety rules and practices and in the application of resuscitation and First Aid as presented in the Company's Safety Manual. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
What we're looking for:
Education requirements are listed below for all Station Electrician levels:
Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent education and/or experience
Equivalent education and experience is limited to military training and work experience of technical/technician nature (such as aviation and nuclear instrumentation technician);
or recent experience (within last 6 months) as a Station Electrician or equivalent job title with another utility or contractor.

Automation Machine Tool Electricians needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. Responsibility to electrically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC, PLC, and relay logic-controlled machines.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge and experience repairing on or more of the following types of equipment: Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis (grinders), Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, DMG Mori and a variety of other machines in a large industrial machine shop.
Examples of related equipment to be repaired: P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, CNC machine tools and other equipment in a large industrial machine shop.
Examples of machine controllers to be repaired: CNC and PLC equipment with Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the machine shop.
AC/DC analog and digital drives, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat, and various other drives.
Examples of measurement and feedback scale and encoder systems, including Heidenhain, inductosyn, and various other feedback devices.
Applicant must possess basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate basic tools to complete the job.
Seeking a team-oriented individual with a positive attitude, good work ethic, with personal initiative and self-motivation.
Applicant must be willing to work overtime opportunities to support production demands.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment, including experience with the following:
Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis (grinders), Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, and a variety of others in the machine shop.
P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, washers, ABB robots.
Experience with troubleshooting and repairing relay log machines and CNC/PLC controlled machines, including:
CNC and PLC controlled equipment with Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon.
Indramat, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the machine shop.
Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives, including:
Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat, and various other drives.
Ability to demonstrate intermediate or higher proficiency in readying and interpreting machine tool prints/schematics
Basic mechanical skills
Ability to operate basic tools to complete the job
Self-starter and self-motivated individual who works well individually in a team environment.
Note: Selected candidate must pass the color blindness test and must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Certified electrician
Associate Degree in Industrial Automation
Physical Requirements:
Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly and technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Must be able to work in heights and confirmed spaces

Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:30pm-11:30pm) & 3rd Shift (11:30pm-7:30am)
Relocation assistance is available to eligible candidates
Starting hourly pay rate of $37.40 plus 6% shift premium. Higher rates offered based on experience.
40-hour work weeks with potential for Overtime

Summary Pay Range:
$37.40 - $47.60
