Job Description:
ELECTRICIAN
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.8 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The installation or repairs of any of a variety of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, receptacles, or other transmission equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measurement/test instruments. Secondary duties required of this position will be general installation duties in relation to the electrical installations.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry
Construction, safety, and quality training/certifications a plus
MS Office experience and computer proficiency required
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
Must be willing to travel 100% throughout the United States and its territories
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Valid driver license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check required
Must have, or be able to obtain, a satisfactory DOT medical examination
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.

About the Role
GlacierGrid is seeking a skilled and adaptable Field Electrician to support the deployment of our energy management hardware at commercial sites across the U.S. You'll be responsible for installing sub-meters, load controllers, and three-phase meters, primarily at quick-service restaurants (QSRs), convenience stores, and other multi-site commercial facilities. In addition to electrical work, you'll assist with the installation and maintenance of smart thermostats and related HVAC hardware, working closely with our in-house and third-party HVAC technicians.
This is a field-heavy role requiring up to 75% travel monthly. You'll coordinate closely with our Engineering, Product, and Business Innovation teams to ensure seamless installs, troubleshoot issues, and help scale our field operations nationwide.
Responsibilities:
Install and commission sub-meters, load controllers, and three-phase meters at customer sites
Ensure safe and compliant connections within electrical panels and across commercial building infrastructure
Assist with installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of smart thermostats and HVAC-related IoT hardware
Travel to customer sites across the U.S. (approximately 75% of the time)
Perform site surveys and recommend installation approaches based on building layouts and infrastructure
Collaborate with in-house engineers and remote support teams to solve field issues
Document work completed and provide feedback for improving installation processes and hardware design
Help vet and train third-party contractors or electricians as needed
About You
Licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master, depending on state requirements)
Preference for licensing in Texas and Utah
3-5+ years of commercial electrical experience, preferably including panel work and metering installations
Comfortable working in live electrical panels and interpreting single-line diagrams and site plans
Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and low-voltage controls
Familiar with smart building systems, IoT devices, and network setups (e.g., WiFi, gateways)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
Willing and able to travel frequently (up to 75% per month) across the U.S.

Responsibilities:
Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician.
Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.
