Responsibilities
Clearly, effectively, and timely communicate work issues, priorities, and status updates with Engineering staff and management.
Routinely test, inspect, and maintain emergency generators, emergency lighting, and associated life-safety systems in accordance with code and facility standards.
Perform maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and replacements of venue lighting fixtures throughout the Convention Center.
Install, operate, and maintain show power and temporary electrical distribution systems for events, exhibits, and arena configurations.
Maintain all electrical cords, cables, connectors, and related equipment in safe, serviceable condition.
Ensure required clearances are maintained around electrical panels, transformers, switchgear, and related infrastructure.
Train and support the Engineering team on electrical requirements and best practices for events and venue operations.
Provide excellent customer service to internal departments, clients, promoters, vendors, and external partners.
Operate, configure, and program zones and groups; generate reports; and troubleshoot systems using Square D PowerLink / PowerLogic platforms.
Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, fixtures, and appliances using appropriate hand tools and testing instruments.
Diagnose and isolate electrical defects in wiring, switches, motors, and equipment using suitable testing devices.
Inspect and test electrical system components to identify faults including blown fuses, short circuits, loose connections, damaged wiring, and worn components.
Replace defective switches, outlets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other basic electrical components as required.
Perform and/or oversee the installation, operation, and breakdown of electrical services for events and facility operations.
Execute all duties with consideration for facility goals, safety standards, and energy conservation initiatives.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, specifications, and manufacturer documentation to determine job requirements and procedures.
Prepare and submit material requisitions necessary to complete assigned work.
Plan and schedule work to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of labor, tools, and materials.
Estimate material requirements and accurately document labor, time, and materials for work orders.
Perform general facility maintenance tasks as needed, including basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
Safely operate maintenance equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, floor scrubbers, and other facility support equipment.
Establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and clients.
Perform additional duties as required to support Convention Center operations.
Qualifications
Must possess High School diploma, GED or equivalent
Completed 5 Year Electrical Apprentice school
Licensed Journeyman Electrical; Master Electrician License highly desirable
Demonstrated experience with maintenance and repair of electrical power generating equipment and auxiliary highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license
Must be able to report for emergencies as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshooting, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, and repairing PLC's, VFD's, Instrumentation and Controls, electrical equipment, motors, motor control centers, switch gears, lighting circuits and fixtures, running conduit, and wiring all types of new electrical/controls installations.
Coordinates all assignments with the appropriate people to ensure safety, environmental, quality, and production needs are met and exceeded.
Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc.
Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers' servos, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the mill (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers)
Must be able to work closely with operations, supervision, and peers.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, one lines, loop drawings, etc.
Ability to write, edit and use SOP's, Lockout Tagout procedures, and makes recommendations for modifying PM job plans throughout the facility, etc.
Must strive to improve reliability of the plant equipment through better uses of technology and precision work practices.
Available at any time requested to assist in the response to emergencies, assist with investigations, electrical failures, damage to property, fire losses, etc.
Be a safety leader with solid safety behaviors and demonstrated leadership while working with others to achieve the site safety plan's goal of being a zero-injury workplace; knowledge & understanding of the 10 Life Saving Rules.
Basic troubleshooting of Motor Control Centers, switch gears, thermal overloads and motor starters.
Maintain and install electrical equipment.
Assists with the planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of electrical maintenance with input from supervision based on operational need.
Ability to follow work order instructions, acquire, and return spare parts using plant CMMS systems and provide written and verbal comments and feedback after any work is performed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have intermediate mechanical aptitude, and advanced electrical aptitude.

Operate yard truck, forklift, man lifts, overhead crane, hoist, various hand & power tools, computer, drill press, threaders, benders, grinders, micrometer, vernier caliper, t-square, level, impact wrenches and measuring tape.
Ability to operate and effectively use oscilloscope, power meter, ohms meter, megger, phase rotation checker, voltage tester, amp meter.
Ability to operate and use a Motor Circuit Analyzer, and/or Vibration Analyzer a plus.
Some personal insulated electrical tools are required.
Ability to adapt quickly to a multicultural environment.
Proficient with the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, LOTO, PPE, OSHA workplace practices, etc.
Familiarity with ISA/IEEE standards a plus.
Must have colored vision to be able to identify, differentiate colored wiring.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge and expertise in steam/gas turbines associated with power plants (preferred).

Understanding of material handling systems, piping, valves, pressure vessels, pumps, cooling towers, building & grounds, and air compressors beneficial.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Maintenance Practices (GMMP).
Knowledge and experience with computers and application software; specifically, MS Office, CMMS systems, Web based applications (preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular attendance is required during your schedule shift including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
