What We're Looking For:
Knowledge:
Oregon Electrician's license (LME, PJ, J) or license from a reciprocal state (OR, WA, ID, WY, MN, UT, ME, AR)
Experience:
AC & DC motor control experience (including drives) required.
Electrical troubleshooting experience required.
Ability to use standard test and troubleshooting equipment (DMM, VOM, Megger, etc.).
Ability to troubleshoot with PLC's (Allen Bradley Control Logix).
Strong industrial mechanical millwright experience/skills preferred. Must be willing to perform millwright duties as part of their regular job duties.

Knowledge of electrical installation and safety standards in adherence with NFPA 70 and 70E.
Able to utilize and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, and engineering specifications to determine work and troubleshooting procedures.
A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and manipulating parameters and machine functions via HMIs.

Peterson Cat has a need for a Commercial Engine Shop Technician Trainee at our Eugene, OR location.
SUMMARY
This position performs repairs and maintenance on engines and related systems under supervision from an experienced Technician.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
* Work in a matter consistent with Contamination Control Guidelines.
* Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship
* Work overtime as needed within labor law guidelines
* Be on call to respond to customer service needs during the evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Under supervision of an experienced Technician, perform the following service operations:
* Repairs and maintain all makes and models of marine, industrial, and EPG engines and related systems.
* Perform pre-delivery inspections of engine products
* Prep/modify sold engine products before delivery to customer
* On occasion, assist field technicians making repairs at customer locations
* Operate and maintain engine dyno
* Provide back-up to Electric Power Shop technicians, as required
* Write service reports that accurately document activities
* Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner to enable other employees to do their job in a timely manner
* Solicit information regarding opportunities for generator system sales and service and pass information to generator systems sales staff and engine PSSR in a timely manner
* Perform work and conduct yourself in a matter that is consistent with company goals, mission statement, and core values
* Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
* Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work and to preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis
* Operate company or personal vehicle as needed
* Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree from a fully accredited college or technical/vocational school in Diesel Technology or other closely related field; and a minimum of 1 year of directly related experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Manufacturing Environment
The shop manufacturing environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions, and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and very warm and chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times, consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection. Position Summary
Our Plant Electrician role is responsible for the installation, diagnosis and repair of plant equipment and electrical systems, including predictive and scheduled preventative maintenance. Qualified candidates must possess a valid electrical license issued from the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain a license within 60 days of employment.
Essential Job Functions
Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot various electrical systems and components, including 600V and 480V 3-phase systems, VFDs and servo drives, safety relays, PLCs/HMIs, controls, and instrumentation devices.
Assist in electrical and automation improvement efforts throughout the plant, including check-out, start up and commissioning support of new equipment.
Aid in predictive and preventative maintenance, calibration and adjustments of controls and electrical systems.
Partner with production, engineering, and automation to detect deficiencies in operation and aid in corrective action for improved machine performance and safety of personnel and equipment.
Utilize computer software for parts management and inventory, work logs, and maintenance agendas.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when business conditions require maintenance support.
Essential Qualifications
Must possess Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license, Plant Journeyman (PJ), General Journeyman (J), or higher.
Knowledge of electrical installation and safety standards in adherence with NFPA 70 and 70E.
Able to utilize and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, and engineering specifications to determine work and troubleshooting procedures.
A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and manipulating parameters and machine functions via HMIs.
Experience with high-speed packaging machinery, robotic cells, and servo drives.
Basic knowledge and troubleshooting common industrial communication networks and protocols.
Process instrumentation and sensor testing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Physical Demands
Standing and walking up to 8 hours.
Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs.
