What You'll Do: Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards throughout the plant for yourself and others at all times. Tools and Equipment. Use the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the Electrician's trade, including how to operate and store all equipment. Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the Electrician's trade. Repair and Maintain Electronic Equipment. Service, repair, calibration, regulation, fine-tuning, and testing of machines, devices, electrical systems, conductors, and associated equipment at aggregate, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, ship, and rail unloading systems. String Lines. Stringing overhead and underground lines and cables and in installing conduit and wire. Read Blueprints and Schematics. Read and draw simple electrical sketches. Work with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine safe and effective installation procedures. Perform Basic Troubleshooting. Detect and diagnose all electrical wiring, appliances, fixtures, machinery problems, failing components, and malfunctions while making corrections and striving to improve equipment reliability. Must display a positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow, ability to take direction from others, and have clear communication skills. Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Mechanical Skills. Must have some knowledge of electrical tools, their uses, and maintenance. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.
