What you'll be doing:
Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments.
Assist other maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and associated control systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing, record results in logbooks / computer systems and make necessary chemical adjustments as required.
Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs as required.
Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures.
Performing basic welding activities to effect repairs on facilities and equipment.
Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered.
Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required.
Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required.
Lockout / Tagout experience is required
Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
The estimated hourly pay for this position ranges from $35.00 to $37.00 per hour. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Key Activities:
Project Management/Coordination:
Coordinates and provides leadership for all phases of various facilities-related projects performed by coworkers and outside contractors. Preventative Maintenance & Repairs:

Training/Guidance:

Provides guidance to technical staff in other trades on safe electrical work practices.
Contract Development & Management:
Provides input for developing RFPs where significant technical expertise in several areas is necessary.
Budget:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant experience.
A minimum of 3 years industry experience with a Master Electrician level - Kansas City Missouri license preferred with experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical safety requirements, including arc flash personal safety requirements.
Experience leading project teams, supervising contract work, and developing written work instructions. Experience with project estimating preferred.
Good computer skills - proficient with Microsoft Office suite, internet application, email. Proficient at operating all computer equipment associated with assigned equipment or systems.
Possess good writing and critical thinking skills.

Under general supervision, performs the full range of skilled, journeyman level Electrician duties in order to support the education mission of the District and to enhance the education environment. The maintenance electrician will work as part of a team to Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related systems for the school district.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs skilled maintenance and repair of building structures, equipment and facilities, with major emphasis on electric systems and components
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures control devices and equipment.
Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment and components.
Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, and municipal safety regulations, codes and specifications.
Maintains accurate records using District provided work order system.
In coordination with other departments, will participate in larger maintenance and repair operations as needed.
Estimates, determines needs, and arranges for supplies and equipment in order to perform or schedule work assignments.
Promote quality workmanship and productivity.
Keeps immediate supervisor and/or Director of Physical Properties advised of current maintenance situation and work schedules.
Other duties as directed by the Director of Physical Properties or assigns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Good oral and written communication skills.
General knowledge of building construction and systems, and repair terminology.
General knowledge of line voltage and low voltage electrical systems and maintenance trades in a commercial environment.
Ability to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install rigid galvanized electrical conduit, using tools such as a pipe threader, conduit bender and other standard tools of the trade.
Ability to interact with supervisors, staff, vendors, co-workers and the public using a positive, collaborative approach.
Ability to problem solve and engage necessary staff/supervisors to address facility issues.
Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction or monitoring; sound judgment and decision making capabilities are essential.
Ability to coordinate, organize, schedule and assign work when necessary.
Ability to perform well under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to perform all requirements of a preventive maintenance technician.
Numerical ability required to make proper calculations.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications of new construction, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
Strong organizational ability
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school, trade and/or vocational school graduation and completion of union, private, military or trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job training.
Minimum of four (4) years' work experience as a Journey-level electrician or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in a commercial, educational or facilities operations setting.
Preferred:Knowledge of public schools or university operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is medium to heavy. Routinely handles loads weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally handles loads weighing up to 100 pounds or more, using appropriate equipment and/or lifting techniques. Walks and stands most of the day. Stooping and climbing as required. Must be able to work at heights. Requires near-visual acuity and good color vision to inspect and approve repair and maintenance, read blueprints, building code manuals, and other documents. Works both inside and outside. The work environment may be subject to loud noise from machinery, equipment and tools. May be required to work long hours.
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Employee shall have a valid driver's license at the time of his/her employment with the Kansas City Kansas USD #500 School District. IF, at any time during his/her employment, the employee should lose their driver's license and/or their driver's license suspended for any reason, the employee shall immediately notify the Director of Physical Properties.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT/YEARLY REQUIREMENTS: Employee shall meet all the pre-employment and yearly requirements as specified in the Policies of the Board of Education.

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on various pieces of fitness equipment at customer locations including homes and commercial facilities
Identify and report replacement parts needed
Assemble and disassemble equipment and perform equipment installations at commercial facilities
Complete accurate and thorough customer work order reports using our Field Service Management software
Professionally interact with customers to help maintain great client relationships and explain repairs and equipment failures
Drive from job to job in a clean and well-organized branded vehicle
Daily local travel
Occasionally lift heavy equipment
Qualifications
One year of mechanical/electrical aptitude and experience working with hand tools required
Experience repairing fitness equipment is a plus but not necessary. Our CFET Training Program will prepare you for the job.
Positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues
Ability to use a phone/tablet for scheduling and job reports
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
A self-starter with problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and plan, organize, and manage a variety of tasks

High School diploma or equivalent

Start your career in the electrical industry with Torgeson Electric Company. As an apprentice electrician, you'll work closely with skilled electricians on various job sites, gaining hands on experience to build a solid foundation in this trade.
Scope of Work
Apprentice Electricians will assist skilled electricians and learn on the job. This role provides exposure to underground rough-in, interior wall and above ceiling conduit installation, circuit and feeder pulling, fixture and large gear installation, and troubleshooting. Apprentice Electricians will also complete a daily pre-job safety plan for the work being performed.

JOB DETAILS Base Pay: $33.00-$37.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour shift differential 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 11 pm-7 am Benefits Starting Day 1 On Demand Pay (Access to Your Pay When You Need It) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery. Corrects problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical components, and PLCs. Maintains specified production and spare equipment. Plans and fabricates metal parts (e.g., brackets) for manufacturing application; installs and maintains electrical equipment. Operates and assists maintaining motorized equipment. Performs basic to complex grounds/facilities repairs, as required. Performs basic to complex electrical repairs and installations. Interacts with vendors to complete projects or to repair equipment. Ensures accuracy and safety in all operations.
