You will be expected to have the ability to support the testing engineers and to assist in building mechanical and fluid systems with knowledge of machine parts, electronics wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, actuators, drive motors, and control systems. You will work with high pressure systems, vacuum systems, pressurize liquid fuel systems, and high-flow rate compressors. You will perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the Innoveering buildings, facilities, and equipment including compressors, pumps, power supplies, custom built lab equipment, and associated hardware. The job will require moderate lifting of hardware up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and forklift operation.
In support of testing activities, duties will include test cell and test article preparation, involving instrumentation, ignition and fuel system installations. Active participation during test campaigns will include pre- and post-test activities, working through checklists.
General housekeeping duties will also be expected. Including, but not limited to, the arrangement of tools and equipment, organization of storage areas, and overall lab cleanliness, such as sweeping and mopping your general work areas. · You will be required to climb ladders in order to clean leaves out of gutters and do roof repairs. Ladders required to perform this task will range from 16 to 40 feet in length and range in weight from 20 to 125 pounds. You will be required to lift and transport these ladders.
· Make sure preventative maintenance is done on all weight room equipment.
· Use of a ladder is required to change light bulbs in breezeways and on buildings. These ladders could range in weight from 10 to 125 pounds.
· Changing panels of glass ranging in weight from 10 to 40 pounds is require and may require the use of a ladder to accomplish the task.
· Pool maintenance is a big responsibility and often requires you to lift and / or transport 100-pound drums of granular chlorine, 50-pound drums of stick chlorine, and 50-pound bags of soda ash or bicarbonate of soda. You are responsible for replacing pool pump room motors and pumps. These pumps and motors could range from 25 to 200 pounds, depending on the size required.
· As part of your daily maintenance routine, you may be required to move appliances from one apartment to another apartment on opposite ends of the community. The appliance may have to be transported by means of a hand truck up one to three flights of steps. These appliances will range in weight from 75 to over 200 pounds.
· Our commercial laundry rooms are equipped with single washing machines and / or stacked (double) clothes dryers, which you will be required to move in order to repair and perform preventative maintenance. These machines range in weight from 120 to 150 pounds.
· On occasion, you will be required to move furniture from one model unit to another or move furniture items in a resident's apartment to accomplish certain repairs or to correct flood damage. This would require that you move items weighing several pounds to several hundred pounds.
· During the course of your job, you may be involved in repairs to the building structure. You may be required to move or transport a number of different building type materials weighing several pounds to several hundred pounds

Key Responsibilities
GSE Maintenance & Repair

Overview
Avelo Airlines is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician based in New Haven, CT, to maintain, repair, and ensure the operational readiness of our GSE fleet. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GSE maintenance, diesel and gas engine repair, electrical and hydraulic systems, and fleet management.
Key Responsibilities
GSE Maintenance & Repair
* Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Avelo's GSE, including aircraft tugs, belt loaders, de-icing trucks, belt loaders, and other types of GSE.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues to ensure all equipment remains operational.
* Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts inventory.
* Ensure GSE is inspected, commissioned, and put into service at new locations, following safety and operational standards.
Fleet & Equipment Management
* Monitor and track GSE condition, repair needs, and usage across multiple locations.
* Coordinate GSE relocation and shipping between stations to support operational demands.
* Assist with implementing and maintaining a GSE management technology solution for tracking maintenance records and asset performance.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with FAA, OSHA, and airport authority regulations.
* Follow all safety procedures, wearing proper PPE and ensuring a safe working environment.
* Participate in safety audits and inspections of equipment and maintenance facilities.
Vendor & Team Collaboration
* Coordinate with third-party vendors for outsourced maintenance and repair services, ensuring compliance with Avelo's standards.
* Work closely with airport operations teams to ensure GSE availability and readiness.
* Communicate effectively with the GSE Supervisor and fellow technicians to address urgent repairs and maintenance priorities.
Travel & Station Support
* Provide on-site GSE maintenance at Bradley International Airport and surrounding locations weekly.
* Travel up to 50% to assist with GSE maintenance at other Avelo stations as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in automotive, diesel, or GSE maintenance preferred.
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in GSE maintenance, diesel engine repair, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

Responsibilities
