PURPOSE
The specialized maintenance employee is responsible for satisfactory completion of job assignments in his/her skill area, as directed by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Operate, diagnose, repair, replace, and perform preventative maintenance on all types of electrical equipment, including pumps, controls, and other basic electrical systems.
Assist with new construction, modification, and renovations involving pipe bending, aerial lift work, pulling wire, and complete change outs.
Interact courteously with teachers, staff, and students
Provide weekly and monthly reports when using District Purchasing Card
Understand and adhere to Board policies
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

Job Description
JOB SCOPE: The Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of electrical, repair, and preventative maintenance, and diagnostic and operational verifications, to ensure that all production machinery, electrical equipment, and systems remain fully functional at high performance levels. The individual analyzes, tests, diagnoses, repairs, and installs new parts or systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles. Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures/weather. Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all electrical units in the facility are properly functioning.
Analyze machine errors to diagnose and repair equipment problems, and routinely check for equipment malfunctions. Test results to ensure full function has been achieved.
Clean, lubricate, disassemble, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
Perform functions such as welding, fabrication, reading schematics, and preventative measures.
Study blueprints and manuals to determine correct installations and repairs.
Record parts/materials used, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, HACCP, Lockout Tagout policy, etc.
Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation. This may involve on-call hours.
Keep work area clean and maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid driver's license.
Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, squat, bend, pull, push, etc.
Must be computer literate.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
