We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to become part of our Equipment team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will be tasked with the maintenance and repair of diverse machinery. This position is vital for reducing operational interruptions and guaranteeing the proper and secure functioning of all equipment.
Description
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or other technical equipment issues. Determine the root cause of problems and implement effective corrective actions.
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
Follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to perform routine checks and tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime and disruptions to production.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during maintenance activities to protect yourself, colleagues, and the manufacturing environment.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, equipment maintenance history, and inventory levels.Report inventory needs to the maintenance supervisor or administrator.
Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accurate performance and compliance with specifications.
Assist in the installation, set-up and commissioning of new equipment or machinery.
Suggest and implement improvements to equipment and maintenance procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and stay updated on new technologies and maintenance practices.
Work collaboratively with other maintenance technicians, supervisors, and departments to achieve common goals and resolve complex issues.

Requirements
Highschool diploma or GHED minimum with training and experience in technical field.
Experience 0-8 years
Hands-on troubleshooting of production equipment.
Participation in OEE improvement activities.
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems commonly found in manufacturing equipment. This includes hydraulics, pneumatics, motor sensors, PLCs, and other industrial controls.
Adept at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Compliance with company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
Detail-oriented to document maintenance tasks, equipment condition, repair records, and parts usage accurately.
Strong aptitude to one of these knowledge areas: Electrical controls, Mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs.
Ability to collaborate with other departments to perform tasks and duties.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
Experience with solar manufacturing
Certifications in trade skills

Install, troubleshoot and/or repair plant electrical equipment which will include but not be limited to:
Interior and exterior lighting (120V, 277V, 480V)
Electrical distribution & motor control systems up to 480V AC
Three phase motors up to 480V
Control circuits and equipment (PLC's, sensors, etc) utilizing voltages of 24VDC or 120VAC.
Assist contractor services with maintenance of plant fire and security systems.

Place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Ability to direct, train, or lead crew members to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Demonstrated ability to safely use various types of man lifts and hand/power tools as well as being able to work from ladders, scaffolds or at heights above 25 feet.

Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.

What You'll Do:

Inspect Equipment, Structures, and Materials. Complete scheduled checks of all electrical equipment and systems in order to detect any malfunctions and unsafe conditions throughout the plant.
Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, and other Documentation. Work with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine safe and effective installation procedures.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Skills You'll Need:Experience. 3-5 years of experience in construction or industrial electrical work is preferred. CDL is a plus. A journeyman or master electrician card is preferred.Knowledge of Best Practices. Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of electrical codes and electrical theory. Motor control is preferred (NEC, NESC, & MSHA).Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
