Coho Technology Solutions is looking for a High Voltage Electrician (HVE) with experience supporting commonly used high voltage electric power distribution equipment such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments and control systems. Selected candidates will be considered a Qualified Person, which is one who has received training in and has demonstrated skills and knowledge in the construction and operation of electric equipment and installations and hazards involved.
Responsibilities:

Read circuit diagrams and perform troubleshooting layout, and complete installation, modification, and repair on high voltage distribution systems

Diagnose and determine corrective action for electric power-controlling equipment
Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum Level III Electrical Testing Technician (ETT) certification or equivalent proof of a four (4) year electrician apprenticeship program or 8,000 hours of equivalent electrical type training
Required Knowledge/Experience:
The HVE must have a minimum of 2 years full time experience working as a journeyman HVE
HVEs possess a strong knowledge and skill in the high voltage electricity trade
Knowledge of electrical theory, formulas, and the mathematical skill in order to derive voltage, current, and power related formulas
Read, interpret standard construction blueprint and operating manuals, and be proficient in the use of all standard electrical trade related tools and equipment
Experience as a journeymen in overhead & underground distribution construction, substations/switchyards, to include maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting procedures
Experience in low voltage systems including maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of power breakers, equipment in high voltage switchyards, substations, and power operations centers
Participate in special projects such as pre-commissioning/checkout of new substations, stage additions, or substation inspections and commissioning preparation
Ability to drive a motorized vehicle and possess a valid California “C” driver's license
Working knowledge relating to applicable codes and guidance, ensuring compliance with safe clearance procedures and safety rules and regulations
Knowledge in new construction and maintenance of distribution systems, Sub Station maintenance including medium voltage (5kv-69kv) breakers; air, sf6 gas, oil and vacuum switches and Load Tap Changing Power Transformers

**Summary:**
Maintain and repair various power plant mechanical equipment and their associated auxiliary components.
This position is at our Ivanpah Generating Station facility in Nipton, CA approximately 30 - 40-minute drive from Las Vegas Strip.
**Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:**
+ Install, maintain, test, inspect and repair generating station equipment such as, boilers, turbines, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, vessels and a variety of utility vehicles.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical failures and provide recommendations and findings to supervisor.
+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance plans on mechanical equipment.
+ Replace packing in pumps and valves, bearings, shaft seals, sleeves, seats and other miscellaneous parts used in plant equipment.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:**
Outdoor environment at generating plant work locations includes:

+ Performance of duties requires response to calls 24 hours/day, seven days/week and working irregular shifts.

Surveying the grounds; physically walks the property on a daily basis and removes litter, debris, etc. from the grounds. Focusing on critical areas and ensuring they remain free of litter at all time.

Grounds adjacent to the road, in front of the office
Walkways in-between buildings/parking lots and drives
Dog park

Pulls weeds from all areas of apartment complex, dog park, and parking lot perimeter. Sprays weed killer throughout the property as needed, but no less than once per month.
Keeps dumpster doors closed on windy days
Insures "apartment preparation" duties are recorded and completed for move-in when requested by management
Performs interior and exterior painting duties when requested.
Completes routine and urgent service requested when requested by Program Manager and/or IPSS Director. Ensure site procedures are followed when service requests are performed.
Change locks, make keys when directed
Performs all additional duties assigned by the Program Manager and/or IPSS Director.
Completing general cleaning of the property exterior and interior areas to include wiping off handrails upstairs, downstairs, each staircase, cleaning tops of air conditioners, and power washing areas where bird droppings have fallen.
Common areas, hallways, stairwells, grounds are cleaned daily and in a timely manner
Keeping exterior windows washed and clean as needed
Maintains inventory logs of property equipment, creates seasonal schedule to prepare them for service as needed
Provide weekly list of materials needed to complete custodial and grounds maintenance of the property
Update Manager daily on status of building exterior and interior deficiencies
Assist where contracted work is utilized.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position is a maintenance crew member responsible for maintenance and repair of plant equipment at an industrial feed milling plant, which includes areas of expertise in electrical, welding and instrumentation. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in timely manner. Emphasis will be preventive maintenance and welding.
Responsibilities
Performs maintenance in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency basis:
Mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, and heat exchangers
Building repairs and cleaning
Moves, sets, calibrates, as needed, controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units, such as heaters, coolers, compressors, exchangers, and other units.
Determines malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns.
Inspects equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as leaks, breakages and faulty valves.
Communicates directly with production to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
Patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
Performs preventive maintenance activities as required.
Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor.
Works with contractors to plan and implement installation of new equipment or systems.
Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs.
Knows and understands city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance and plant equipment, and works in a manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.
Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.

Qualifications
A high school diploma is required
Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in electrical or instrumentation maintenance and repair
Skills
Understanding of plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices
